Your role at Baxter
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in protecting and promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees. Acting as a trusted partner to employees, leaders, Human Resources, and Environmental Health & Safety teams, you will help create a safe workplace while supporting employee health, regulatory compliance, and business continuity.

In this role, you will lead and administer the site's occupational health program, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while providing care, case management, health surveillance, and wellness initiatives. Success is measured through proactive risk reduction, effective injury and illness management, regulatory compliance, and positive employee health outcomes.
What you'll be doing
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), working a rotating 2-2-3 schedule
- Lead and administer the facility's occupational health program to address workplace health risks and support employee wellbeing.
- Provide immediate care and assessment for workplace injuries and illnesses, including coordinating emergency medical response efforts.
- Manage occupational health surveillance programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory monitoring, and exposure management.
- Maintain confidential occupational health records and ensure compliance with OSHA, Workers' Compensation, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate case management activities, partnering with healthcare providers, Human Resources, managers, and insurance representatives to support timely return-to-work outcomes.
- Deliver health-related counseling, education, and wellness initiatives that promote employee and family wellbeing.
- Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety teams to identify workplace health hazards and implement risk reduction strategies.
- Support on-site drug testing programs and follow-up activities as appropriate.
- Conduct basic ergonomic assessments and partner with EHS to reduce musculoskeletal injury risks.
- Evaluate occupational health program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external occupational health physicians and providers.
- Maintain required certifications and continuing education to support occupational health practice.
- Support compliance with company quality standards, SOPs, cGMP requirements, and 6S workplace practices.
What you'll bring

- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current North Carolina nursing license.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic documentation.
- Ability to respond to workplace medical emergencies.
- Ability to understand and follow safety, quality, and work instruction requirements.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Occupational Health Nursing certification (COHN/COHN-S or equivalent).
- Previous occupational health, employee health, or industrial nursing experience.
- Experience managing Workers' Compensation, case management, and return-to-work programs.
- Experience with health surveillance programs and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $93,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
