Introduction to the Team

Our Corporate Functions teams support Expedia Group through specialized expertise across Finance, Legal, People, communications, and other critical areas. Together, these teams enable the business to operate effectively, make informed decisions, and deliver meaningful experiences for travelers and partners.

Expedia Group’s Tax organization provides strategic guidance and operational partnership across a complex, highly matrixed global business. Reporting to the Director, Global Tax Reporting, the Tax Manager will help calculate and report the U.S. tax effects of Expedia Group’s international operations while partnering with Global Finance and Tax teams to support timely, accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Support quarterly and year-end U.S. GAAP tax provisions for international operations.
- Calculate and analyze foreign tax credits, FDDEI deductions, Subpart F and NCTI inclusions, and Section 987 gains and losses.
- Review book-to-tax differences related to international operations.
- Review U.S. international tax forms, including Forms 1118, 5471, 8858, 8865, 8990, and 8992.
- Support international components of U.S. federal income tax audits and other inquiries.
- Maintain audit-ready workpapers, documentation, and financial records.
- Provide tax support for international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and other business initiatives.
- Monitor tax legislation and translate changes into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Drive AI-enabled process improvements and support adoption of new tax technology tools.
- Maintain process documentation, strengthen controls, and contribute to tax reporting transformation initiatives.
- Build effective partnerships across Tax, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.

Experience and Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience, plus 5+ years of experience in a Big Four firm or equivalent environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. international tax, ASC 740, and federal income tax concepts.
- Experience supporting tax provisions and compliance activities.
- Experience with tax provision and compliance software.
- Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and work collaboratively and independently.

Preferred

- CPA license.
- Exposure to foreign tax provision principles.
- Experience supporting international tax matters related to M&A, reorganizations, or business initiatives.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled improvements or adopting new tax technology.
- Experience developing process documentation and supporting control or transformation initiatives.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $110,500.00 to $155,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $177,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.


Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
