About this role

About this Team

At OpenAI, we’re here to do something extraordinary: build safe AGI that benefits everyone. That mission demands people who are not just brilliant but also deeply aligned with our values. Our Recruiting team is the gateway connecting exceptional humans to meaningful, high-impact work. We’re a close-knit, mission-driven crew that takes pride in thoughtful, relationship-first hiring. We partner deeply with teams across OpenAI to find, engage, and support the people who will shape the future of AI.

About this Role

We’re looking for an experienced GTM Recruitment Sourcer to help identify, engage and attract exceptional talent across some of OpenAI’s most critical and rapidly growing teams, including Technical Solutions, Revenue Operations and Sales.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll play a key part in shaping our talent pipelines and building proactive sourcing strategies in competitive and evolving markets. You'll go beyond identifying candidates, developing a deep understanding of the talent landscape, uncovering exceptional talent and creating meaningful connections with people who could contribute to OpenAI's mission.

You'll partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to translate hiring priorities into creative, data-informed sourcing strategies, bringing market intelligence and fresh perspectives to how we identify and engage talent.

You'll report to the regional recruiting lead and collaborate with recruiting colleagues and business stakeholders across our global organisation.

Your Responsibilities:

- Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand business priorities, calibrate talent requirements and develop targeted sourcing strategies across GTM functions.
- Proactively identify, engage and build relationships with exceptional talent, including passive candidates in highly competitive and emerging talent markets.
- Build and maintain high-quality talent pipelines to support both immediate hiring priorities and longer-term workforce needs.
- Develop creative, research-driven sourcing approaches, leveraging market mapping, talent intelligence, referrals, professional networks and emerging sourcing technologies.
- Conduct initial candidate conversations to assess experience, motivations and alignment with role requirements, ensuring a thoughtful and engaging candidate experience.
- Bring market insights to recruiting teams and hiring managers, including talent availability, competitive landscapes and emerging talent pools, to inform hiring strategies and challenge assumptions.
- Partner with recruiters to continuously refine search strategies, evaluate pipeline quality and adapt approaches based on feedback and hiring outcomes.
- Track sourcing activity and pipeline effectiveness, using data to identify opportunities to improve candidate engagement, quality and conversion.
- Champion an inclusive approach to sourcing, exploring different backgrounds, experiences and talent pools to ensure we reach exceptional candidates who might otherwise be overlooked.
- Experiment with AI-enabled sourcing tools and new technologies to improve sourcing effectiveness, efficiency and scalability, while maintaining strong human judgement.
- Contribute to sourcing best practices, sharing market knowledge, creative approaches and insights with the wider recruiting organisation.

We're Seeking

- 6+ years of experience in talent sourcing or recruiting, ideally within an in-house talent acquisition team or a high-growth, high-bar environment.
- Experience sourcing for GTM functions such as Sales, Technical Success, Revenue Operations, Partnerships or User Operations.
- A proven ability to identify and engage exceptional passive talent and build strong pipelines for complex or competitive roles.
- Strong research and market-mapping skills, with the ability to uncover talent beyond traditional sourcing channels.
- Sound talent judgement, with an ability to recognise both demonstrated experience and potential, and identify candidates who meet a high hiring bar.
- A proactive and creative approach to sourcing, with the curiosity and persistence to explore new talent pools and experiment with different engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with an ability to engage candidates authentically and create compelling narratives around career opportunities.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering closely with recruiters and hiring managers across different functions, regions and cultures.
- A highly organised, execution-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple sourcing priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- A data-informed mindset, using sourcing metrics, market insights and pipeline feedback to evaluate effectiveness and continuously improve outcomes.
- Experience with modern recruiting and sourcing tools, such as Ashby and LinkedIn Recruiter, alongside an enthusiasm for leveraging AI and emerging technologies to find and engage talent.
