Summary

The Construction Field Technician supports onsite construction activities by assisting with field inspections, documentation, quality verification, safety compliance, and coordination between project team members and subcontractors. This position works closely with supervisors, engineers, and construction managers to help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Reporting Relationships

- The Construction Field Technician reports to the Deputy Construction manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist with daily field inspections and construction site walkdowns to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

- Maintain accurate field reports, inspection logs, punch lists, photographs, project records, electronic filing systems, and other project documentation.

- Observe, document, and promptly communicate field conditions, safety concerns, quality issues, and non-conforming work to supervisors.

- Collect field data, measurements, and progress information to support project reporting and issue resolution.

- Coordinate with subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and other project team members regarding daily work activities and project requirements.

- Participate in project meetings, safety briefings, toolbox talks, and other project coordination activities as assigned.

- Assist with material receiving, inventory verification, and tracking of onsite equipment and materials.

- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents under supervision to support field activities.

- Support testing, commissioning, inspections, and project turnover activities, including verification of completed work.

- Support project teams in achieving safety, quality, and schedule objectives while promoting compliance with company policies, project procedures, and applicable safety regulations.

- Perform other duties as assigned in support of successful project execution.

Education & Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field preferred.

- Basic knowledge of construction practices and jobsite safety principles.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to read and understand technical documents with training and supervision.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

- Willingness to work outdoors and in active construction environments.

- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Experience using mobile construction management software is plus

- Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, industrial, or commercial construction projects is plus.

Job Requirements

- Willingness to work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Physical Requirements

- Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, and standing for sustained periods of time

- Strong visual acuity is required, with the ability to see small print, symbols, and measurements.

- Ability to perform detailed work with high attention to visual accuracy, and ability to identify potential quality issues.

- Perform work at heights from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, roofs, or other areas occasionally or as job requires
