Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing Operations is responsible for leading the operational engine of the marketing organization, including creative services, supplier marketing, integrated marketing, tradeshows, campaign planning, marketing calendar governance, and cross-functional execution with CRM and Digital teams. This role sets priorities, allocates resources, manages budgets, and ensures marketing programs are executed with discipline, speed, quality, and measurable business impact. The Director will oversee a $5M supplier marketing program and a $3M marketing operating budget, making sound decisions that balance growth objectives, supplier commitments, customer engagement, and financial accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- - Lead marketing operations, including creative services, supplier marketing, campaign operations, events, and marketing planning processes
- - Manage and develop the creative and marketing operations team, ensuring alignment on priorities, performance, and execution quality
- - Oversee supplier marketing programs, including planning, execution, performance tracking, and ROI accountability
- - Manage marketing budgets, including forecasting, spend oversight, and prioritization of investments
- - Direct integrated marketing planning and maintain the enterprise marketing calendar to align campaigns and business priorities
- - Lead tradeshow and event strategy and execution, including budget, supplier participation, and performance outcomes
- - Establish and improve marketing processes, workflows, and reporting to drive efficiency, visibility, and accountability
- - Analyze performance data and business insights to guide decisions, optimize programs, and resolve complex issues
- - Partner cross-functionally to deliver coordinated marketing initiatives that support revenue, supplier, and customer objectives
- - Directly or indirectly responsible for product quality.
- - Performs other duties as assigned by management to support the business.
Span and Scope
- - Direct Reports: Yes (approx. 4) – Marketing Managers, Marketing Assistant, Marketing Coordinator
- - Leadership Responsibility : Leads day-to-day activities, coaching, prioritization, and performance management for marketing operations and creative team members
- - Focus/Influence: Drives execution of enterprise marketing operations, supplier marketing programs, and integrated campaigns; influences cross-functional alignment with Sales, Product, Digital, and Supplier teams
- - Decision-Making Authority : Exercises judgment over budget allocation, campaign prioritization, resource planning, and program execution within established strategies; escalates significant risks, trade-offs, or investment decisions as needed
- - Complexity : High; manages multiple budgets, integrated campaigns, supplier commitments, competing priorities, and cross-functional dependencies requiring strategic thinking, problem-solving, and coordination

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- - Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- - 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including marketing operations, integrated marketing, campaign management, supplier/vendor marketing, or related functions.
- - 3+ years of experience leading and developing employees, including coaching, performance management, goal setting, employee development, and talent planning.
- - Experience managing multi-million-dollar marketing budgets, supplier-funded programs, MDF/co-op programs, or complex marketing investment portfolios.
- - Demonstrated experience leading integrated marketing plans across creative, CRM, digital, events, supplier marketing, content, and sales enablement channels.
- - Proven ability to build and manage marketing calendars, campaign workflows, operating processes, performance reporting, and cross-functional execution plans.
