We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of major aviation infrastructure projects in Ireland. This is an opportunity to lead complex programmes within a live operational environment, managing multidisciplinary teams and working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders to deliver strategic capital investments.
Job Description
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of multiple aviation infrastructure and capital projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover.
Working closely with clients, project teams and stakeholders, you will provide leadership, governance and oversight across programme delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of multiple aviation infrastructure and capital projects from inception through to completion and handover.
- Provide oversight and direction to Project Managers and project teams, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with agreed objectives and performance targets.
- Develop and implement project execution plans, delivery strategies and resource plans.
- Manage project performance across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and safety.
- Support and mentor Project Managers, providing technical, commercial and contractual guidance where required.
- Ensure effective project governance, reporting and assurance processes are in place across all projects under your remit.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder engagement activities and manage interfaces across projects, operational teams and external organisations.
- Support commercial management activities, including procurement, contract administration, change control and risk management.
- Monitor project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
- Coordinate project delivery within live operational environments while minimising disruption to ongoing operations.
- Promote a culture of health, safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of project management best practice, standards and processes.

Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 15 years' experience delivering aviation, transportation, infrastructure, construction or engineering projects of significant scale and complexity.
- Demonstrated experience managing major projects or programmes through the full lifecycle from planning and design through to completion and handover.
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, change control and project reporting.
- Experience operating within aviation, transportation or other complex operational environments is highly desirable.
- Experience acting in a client-side project management role is highly desirable.
- Experience working with NEC contracts would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar planning tools would be beneficial.
Qualifications & Professional Memberships
- Degree qualified in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent project management qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution such as APM, PMI, RICS, CIOB or Engineers Ireland.
- Chartered status is desirable but not essential.
Personal Attributes
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Strong commercial and financial management experience.
- Ability to influence and drive outcomes across complex stakeholder environments.
- Understanding of contract administration, change management and project controls.
- Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or other standard forms of contract would be advantageous.
- Understanding of aviation infrastructure delivery within operational environments.
- Strong analytical, organisational and report-writing skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and provide direction in complex project environments.
