Job Title: Project Manager Interior Hospital Construction Job Description This role serves as the owners on-site representative and subject matter expert for interior architectural construction activities on a large, 310bed acute care hospital tower. The Project Manager provides leadership and oversight across construction, ensuring that interior building systems and finishes are delivered in alignment with contract documents, healthcare standards, accessibility requirements, operational needs, and owner expectations. The position focuses on managing risk related to quality, schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance for interior construction and is intended to convert to a full-time permanent role. Responsibilities

- Act as the owners on-site representative for all interior architectural construction activities within the hospital tower.
- Provide strong project management and coordination for interior construction, ensuring alignment with project goals and owner expectations.
- Monitor contractor performance, workmanship, productivity, and adherence to contract requirements for interior systems and finishes.
- Review construction progress regularly and proactively identify risks, deficiencies, and potential schedule impacts.
- Provide clear, consistent reporting to project leadership on interior construction status, quality concerns, and recommended corrective actions.
- Facilitate coordination between designers, contractors, consultants, inspectors, end users, and facilities staff to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
- Ensure interior spaces comply with healthcare standards, accessibility requirements, and all applicable regulatory guidelines, including HCAI/OSHPD.
- Oversee interior construction elements such as doors, frames, and hardware (DFH), ceilings, wall systems, flooring, tile, specialties, and ADA compliance.
- Support and drive project closeout activities for interior construction, including punch lists, documentation, and turnover to operations.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, balancing field coordination (approximately 40%), meetings (approximately 30%), and reporting and related activities (approximately 30%).
- Protect the owners interests by managing risk around quality, schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with user groups and facilities teams to ensure operational needs are incorporated into interior construction decisions.
- Review and coordinate design details, RFIs, and changes related to interior construction to maintain consistency and constructability.
- Contribute at a senior project management level, providing leadership, guidance, and decision-making in the field.

Essential Skills

- 510 years of experience in acute care healthcare environments, specifically within hospital projects.
- 810 years of project management experience, with a strong emphasis on construction projects.
- Direct interior construction background and hands-on experience with hospital or healthcare facilities.
- Minimum of 10 years of direct field experience performing at a senior project manager level.
- Experience with HCAI Level One Hospital Tower construction, including new builds and remodel projects.
- Demonstrated experience working in a regulatory environment and understanding the rigor required in HCAI/OSHPD facilities.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, risk management, and progress tracking.
- Construction management experience, including oversight of contractors, consultants, and inspectors.
- Hospital build experience, with familiarity in healthcare standards and interior hospital systems.
- Proven project coordination capabilities, including leading meetings and facilitating communication among diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) and coordinating design details.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to various audiences.
- Self-starter mindset, with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site position based at a major hospital construction project in Sacramento, California, with work required on site five days per week. The environment is a large, active construction site for a 310bed acute care hospital tower, involving regular field coordination, on-site meetings, and interaction with contractors, architects, consultants, inspectors, and hospital user groups. The role balances time between field oversight, coordination meetings, and reporting activities. Work is performed in and around interior construction areas, where adherence to safety protocols and site procedures is essential. Professional attire suitable for a healthcare-focused construction environment and field conditions is expected, along with any required personal protective equipment as dictated by site safety guidelines. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $80.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
