THE ROLE:
The Director Purchasing is responsible for leading the organization’s procurement and sourcing strategy to ensure cost efficiency, supply continuity, and operational excellence. This role oversees supplier management, contract negotiations, and purchasing operations while working closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute purchasing and sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
- Lead supplier selection , contract negotiations, and commercial agreements
- Manage supplier performance, including cost, quality, delivery, and service levels
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
- Ensure continuity of supply and mitigate supply chain risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, engineering, finance) to align procurement activities with project and production needs
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships and partnerships
- Oversee compliance with company policies, procurement standards, and relevant regulations
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing purchasing team (if applicable)
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to inform sourcing strategies
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:
- Extensive experience in procurement, purchasing , or supply chain management
- Proven track record in leading strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience in manufacturing or technology-related industries
- Experience managing regional or global supplier networks
- Familiarity with procurement systems and tools
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business , Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
