Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician Job Description The Quality Assurance Technician supports the development and maintenance of high-quality medical devices by performing inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities across materials, components, processes, and finished products. This role relies on strong technical communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply complex manufacturing and quality documentation. The technician collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, compliance with ISO and FDA Quality System Requirements, and successful patient outcomes in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Responsibilities

- Perform inspection and testing activities on medical devices, materials, components, and processes to ensure they meet defined quality standards and specifications.
- Read, interpret, and apply technical documents such as manufacturing procedures, inspection and test procedures, nonconformance reports, and mechanical drawings in daily work.
- Generate, review, and maintain accurate quality documentation, including test records, inspection reports, and nonconformance reports, with strong attention to detail.
- Support nonconformance reporting processes by identifying, documenting, and communicating product or process issues, and participating in follow-up actions as needed.
- Contribute to product quality and validation activities, including validation testing and documentation, to ensure devices comply with regulatory and internal quality requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize, execute, and report on quality-related projects, providing clear verbal and written technical communication.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently, adjusting to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
- Use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to quality assurance and testing activities.
- Apply knowledge of ISO and FDA Quality System Requirements, including 21 CFR 820 and relevant European directives and regulations, in day-to-day quality assurance work.
- Support continuous improvement of manufacturing and inspection processes by providing feedback based on inspection, testing, and nonconformance trends.
- Ensure that returned devices and other lab-related materials are handled, tested, and documented in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

Essential Skills

- 5+ years of experience working in the medical device industry in inspection, testing, quality assurance, quality control, or a similar technical role.
- Proven medical device work history with direct involvement in product quality and validation testing activities.
- Ability to read, understand, and use technical documents, including manufacturing procedures, inspection and test procedures, nonconformance reports, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills for collaborating with teams and documenting quality activities.
- Demonstrated attention to detail when generating, reviewing, and maintaining all tasks and documentation related to quality assurance.
- Experience with nonconformance reporting and investigation within a manufacturing or medical device environment.
- Knowledge of ISO and FDA Quality System Requirements, including 21 CFR 820 and relevant European directives and/or regulations.
- Experience in material, component, process, and product quality assurance functions.
- Ability to prioritize, execute, and report on multiple projects while managing time effectively in a changing environment.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for technical documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, inspection methods, test procedures, mechanical drawings, and technical writing related to product quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience working within ISO-based quality management systems in the medical device industry.
- Experience in validation and validation testing for medical devices or related products.
- Experience handling and evaluating returned devices in a lab environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to shared goals and quality improvements.
- Strong project and time management skills to coordinate quality activities across different product lines or processes.
- Commitment to supporting high standards of care and successful patient outcomes in obstructive sleep apnea therapy.

Work Environment The role is based across two modern facilities in Golden Valley, including a long-established building and a newer site located nearby. The position follows a hybrid onsite structure, with four days per week required onsite and the potential for a fifth day on-site due to hands-on work in the lab, particularly with returned devices. The environment is focused on medical device development and quality assurance, with access to laboratory spaces, testing equipment, and manufacturing areas. Team members work closely with colleagues in quality, engineering, and operations, using standard office and lab technologies along with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting. The culture emphasizes elevating and redefining the standard of care for obstructive sleep apnea, prioritizing patient outcomes and adherence to rigorous quality policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
