Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of designing ground control shelters and enclosures for communications and equipment hubs used in perimeter security and aerostat applications. You will also be responsible for designing EMI/EMP hardening, flooring, steel plating, wiring, and rail systems for cabling and server racks. This role involves mechanical design, engineering analysis, development, packaging, parts selection and specification, testing, documentation, and factory introduction/support for defense products.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical design and engineering analysis.
- Develop and package components and systems.
- Select and specify parts for various projects.
- Perform testing and documentation.
- Support factory introduction and manage defense products.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5-10+ years of experience in product development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and associated analytical software applications.
- Experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 Environmental Testing Requirements.
- Proficiency in ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Experience with heat transfer methods at the systems level.
- Knowledge of thermal analysis, stress analysis, tolerance analysis, and FEA.
- Strong technical writing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing methods and flow.
- Knowledge of properties of materials.
- Experience with requirement management tools.
- Experience working with DOD/Government contracts.
- Experience in designing motorized vehicle integrated systems.
- Experience with grounding/bonding designs.
- Experience with bid, proposal, and pursuit activities.
- Experience in building and maintaining good customer and vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of RM&S (Reliability, Maintainability, Supportability), corrosion control, additive manufacturing, platform installation, welding, wind sail analysis, ISO/ANSI/SAE, and power generation is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
