Description:

The insurance industry is a $1.2 trillion industry, the largest in the world. Our 2027 Internship program will provide exposure to a high-level, professional insurance office with opportunities to engage in diverse and challenging work responsibilities supporting our Executive Team, Sales Professionals, Client Service Managers and insurance carrier partners. The internship will be a temporary role from June 7 - July 29, 2027, in-office, working Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-4:30pm. No housing provided. Potential Scholarship Opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Engage in an interactive, rotational program where you will gain meaningful hands-on experience in all the departments of the agency (Sales, Commercial Lines, Marketing, Accounting, Claims, Loss Control, Surety and Employee Benefits). Assist Client Service Managers and Sales Professionals with:

- Client analysis and research
- Follow along on sales calls and renewal meetings
- Involvement in claims process and meetings
- Follow along on loss control visits
- Miscellaneous clerical duties as needed to maintain adequate service to our insured’s, Client Service Managers and Sales Professionals

Education and Experience:

- High School diploma or equivalent required

- The ideal candidate will be a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree

Required Job Skills:

- Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing

- Exceptional interpersonal skills: professional, personable and able to interact effectively with others and to respond appropriately in stressful situation and under deadlines

- Ability to work well with others in a team environment

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Computer literacy for correspondence, data entry, e-mail, Internet, spreadsheets and accessing data from company systems

- Dependability and promptness

- Good organizational and time-management skills

- Must be a self-starter and work well with moderate supervision

- Ability to establish and develop strong relationships with clients, carriers, trusted business partners and coworkers

- Business development and financial evaluation skill

Salary Description:

$20 per hour, no benefits.

Expected Internship Experience

The internship program provides a well-rounded introduction to the insurance industry through hands-on professional experience, industry exposure, networking opportunities, and mentorship. Interns will have the opportunity to engage with various areas of the insurance industry and gain insight into the roles of different industry partners.

Key experiences may include:

- Carrier Visits: Meetings and educational sessions with our insurance carriers.
- Wholesale Insurance Experience: Participation in an intern swap day with vendors/carriers to gain perspective on the wholesale insurance marketplace and its role within the industry.
- Professional Networking: Opportunities to build relationships with colleagues, industry professionals, and other interns throughout the program.
- Team Outings & Activities: Participation in team-building and social activities, such as a Rockies game, mini golf, and one-on-one coffee or lunch meetings with assigned mentors.
- Mentorship & Relationship Building: Regular opportunities to connect with assigned mentors and gain insight into career development, day-to-day responsibilities, and the insurance industry.

These experiences are designed to provide interns with a broad understanding of the insurance industry, exposure to different areas of the business, and opportunities to develop professional relationships and workplace skills.

Salary Description
