Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be pivotal in writing, reviewing, and approving qualification and validation protocols for new or transferred equipment and packaging designs. You will support CI Engineering in executing these protocols and collaborate with engineering teams to create test plans and timelines. Your role involves evaluating equipment for validation requirements, performing operational testing, and creating operation and debugging procedures. Clear and effective communication with team members is essential.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and approve qualification and validation protocols, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, SOPs, verification protocols, technical reports, and final reports.
- Support CI Engineering in executing equipment and packaging qualification and validation protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering to create test plans and timelines for new/transferred manufacturing equipment and new packaging designs.
- Evaluate equipment or new packaging for validation requirements.
- Perform operational testing of small to medium scale semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
- Create operation and debugging procedures.
- Execute testing for new packaging, including internal (drop tests, stack tests, fitment tests) and external testing (ASTM testing with a third-party facility).
- Understand and follow lab protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirements for chemical handling, compliance, and equipment use.
Essential Skills
- 1+ years of technical experience on qualifications and small to medium range equipment.
- Technical experience with manufacturing and automation equipment in life sciences or related fields.
- Experience writing and executing qualification and validation protocols.
- Experience in an ISO or GMP biotech environment.
- Experience in process validation, quality engineering, and equipment validation.
- Proficiency in SOP writing and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Engineering.
- Experience with small to medium range filling, capping, and/or labeling equipment is a plus.
- Experience in pharmaceutical and lean manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
The work is conducted in a lab and equipment setting within a clean room environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
