About this role
C.H. Robinson is seeking a Manager Facilities & Construction to join our team. In this role you will oversee daily operations, strategic planning, maintenance and safety for our facilities. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our work environments while managing construction projects, vendor relationships, space planning, maintenance operations, office and industrial construction projects, and workplace services.
This role will be based on-site at our Eden Prairie, MN office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manages day-to-day facility operations, including building maintenance/repair, security, janitorial services, space planning, and utilization
- Supports vendor management, contracts, and service-level agreements to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness including property management, furniture, architecture, A/V, graphics, and other related vendors
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders across departments to support workspace planning, facility projects, and operational needs
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including emergency preparedness, planning, and building inspections
- Supports higher level leadership with facility budget development and management, tracks expenses, and recommends cost-saving strategies
- Leads facility-related office and industrial construction projects, renovations, and improvements across multiple sites, as needed, to accommodate evolving organizational needs, including developing and implementing project budgets and schedules
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace experience, efficiency, and sustainability
- Maintains accurate documentation of building systems, maintenance records, and safety compliance
Leadership
- Manages and develops a small team of facilities and project management professionals, providing coaching, performance feedback, and leadership to ensure a high-performing team
- Partners with Talent Acquisition to establish a pipeline, recruit, select, and onboard qualified and diverse talent
- Manages annual merit and equity programs for assigned team to align compensation with performance results’
- Outlines employee role accountabilities and expectations; manages performance to drive the right behaviors and improve results and provides useful real-time coaching, feedback, and mentoring, development activities and stretch assignments; supports employees with problem resolution
- Develops people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goals
- Aligns team(s) performance to CHR’s strategic objectives and cascades communication on office, divisional and organizational initiatives to ensure employee’s understanding and alignment
- Encourages employee feedback through formal and informal channels. Acknowledges and takes action on feedback to drive a trusting culture of open two-way communication, inclusivity and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 5 years of construction management, project management, and/or facilities management experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading and managing teams
Preferred:
- Experience in multi-site facility management or within a logistics, supply chain, or corporate office environment.
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM), FMP, or similar industry certification
- Construction management certification such as Certified Construction Manager
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Familiarity with sustainability and energy efficiency best practices
- Advanced understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and preventive maintenance programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external vendors
- Ability to motivate and encourage change, able to get positive results in a very large, dispersed organization

Compensation Range
$98,900.00 - $167,100.00
