Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking a reliable Unarmed Security Supervisor to lead overnight security operations at an assigned location in Nederland, Colorado. This position provides hands-on shift leadership while overseeing access activity, coordinating with security personnel, responding to incidents, and helping maintain consistent coverage throughout the assignment.
The Supervisor will serve as a key point of contact for the overnight team and will work closely with vendors, authorized personnel, and the roving security officer. The ideal candidate is confident communicating with others, capable of making sound decisions independently, and prepared to maintain operational awareness during extended overnight shifts and changing weather conditions.
What You Will Do
Overnight Shift Leadership
- Provide day-to-day direction and support to assigned security personnel during the overnight shift.
- Help ensure required security coverage is maintained throughout the scheduled assignment.
- Coordinate activities between gate personnel and roving security staff.
- Monitor employee performance, professionalism, and adherence to assigned procedures.
- Address routine operational concerns and escalate significant issues through the appropriate chain of command.
- Maintain a professional and accountable presence throughout the shift.
Access & Traffic Oversight
- Oversee vehicle traffic entering and leaving designated access areas.
- Ensure vendors and other authorized parties follow established entry procedures.
- Confirm appropriate authorization before permitting access.
- Maintain orderly vehicle movement and help prevent unauthorized entry.
- Communicate clearly with vendors, drivers, visitors, and authorized personnel.
- Identify unusual traffic or access activity and ensure it is addressed appropriately.
Incident Management
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, security concerns, and other situations requiring supervisor attention.
- Take an active leadership role during incidents within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Assess developing situations and determine when additional resources or management support are needed.
- Coordinate communication between security personnel and supervisors during significant events.
- Maintain composure and provide clear direction during stressful or rapidly changing circumstances.
- Ensure required incident information is documented and communicated through the proper channels.
Team Coordination
- Support the roving security officer and other assigned personnel with operational needs.
- Maintain regular communication with team members throughout the shift.
- Provide guidance when personnel encounter access, traffic, or security-related issues.
- Help ensure post orders and company procedures are consistently followed.
- Communicate shift updates, staffing concerns, and operational observations to management.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and dependable service.
Vendor & Visitor Relations
- Serve as a professional point of contact for vendors seeking access to the assigned location.
- Communicate entry requirements and procedures clearly and respectfully.
- Address routine questions or access concerns within the scope of the position.
- Verify authorization before allowing vendors or visitors to proceed.
- Escalate unusual access requests or unresolved concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Vehicle Operations & Weather Awareness
- Operate a vehicle safely when required for assigned duties.
- Drive responsibly during snow, ice, rain, reduced visibility, and other adverse conditions.
- Evaluate changing road and weather conditions before and during vehicle operations.
- Support personnel movement or operational response when vehicle assistance is required.
- Report significant weather or roadway concerns through the appropriate communication channels.
Reports & Shift Documentation
- Review and complete required shift documentation.
- Ensure incidents, unusual activity, access concerns, and significant observations are properly recorded.
- Communicate important information during shift handoffs.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established reporting procedures.
- Protect confidential operational information encountered during the assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license required .
- Previous security, supervisory, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to safely drive in changing and inclement weather conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide direction and support to other security personnel.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions during incidents.
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with vendors, visitors, employees, and authorized personnel.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to remain alert and effective throughout extended overnight shifts.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a security supervisor or shift supervisor.
- Experience coordinating security personnel or overnight operations.
- Background in access control, gate operations, patrol, or related security functions.
- Experience responding to incidents and coordinating emergency assistance.
- Familiarity with post orders, shift reports, and security documentation.
- Experience communicating with vendors, contractors, drivers, or visitors.
- Experience working in changing weather and outdoor conditions.
- Previous experience operating vehicles during snow, ice, rain, or reduced visibility.
