SUMMARY

The Catering Manager at Sky Cafe is responsible for overseeing daily catering operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery. This role provides leadership to frontline teams, manages operational performance, and ensures all catering, transportation, and sanitation functions meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements. The Catering Manager partners with leadership to execute operational plans, develop employees, and maintain high standards of service, safety, and cost control in a fast-paced, time-sensitive airport environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee daily catering operations, including transportation, sanitation, and commissary functions

- Ensure all operations are executed in compliance with company policies, airline requirements, and regulatory standards

- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline team members to drive performance and accountability

- Monitor operational performance to ensure service level agreements (SLA) and customer expectations are consistently met

- Support staffing plans, scheduling, and manpower allocation to meet operational demands

- Partner with HR on hiring, training, performance management, and employee development

- Ensure all training requirements and recertifications are completed and maintained

- Maintain strong relationships with airline customers, airport authorities, and internal stakeholders

- Monitor and manage operational costs, labor utilization, and budget expectations

- Ensure accurate completion of operational documentation, reports, and compliance records

- Promote and enforce Safety Management System (SMS) practices, including incident reporting and safety audits

- Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance

- Ensure equipment, facilities, and materials are maintained in safe and operational condition

- Communicate operational updates, challenges, and performance metrics to leadership

- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

- Perform any additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

- 18 years of age or older

- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment

- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)

- 3–5 years of operational experience in catering, aviation, logistics, or a related field preferred

- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience

- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs

- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Knowledge of safety procedures, compliance requirements, and operational best practices

- Ability to obtain and maintain required airport and security clearances

- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

- Ability to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
