PACCAR Powertrain is the newest business unit within PACCAR, dedicated to delivering advanced powertrain solutions for Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks. This includes the development of sophisticated heavy-duty engine technologies, along with essential support functions such as testing, validation, and aftersales service. Requisition Summary
The Engineering Manager for Engine and Aftertreatment Verification will provide leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary engineering group responsible for the verification of PACCAR engines, exhaust aftertreatment systems, and on-board diagnostics (OBD).
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Lead a global team responsible for engine, aftertreatment, and OBD verification.
- Develop and mentor managers, supervisors, and engineers.
- Manage personnel, facilities, and budgets to achieve program objectives.
- Drive alignment across the development V-Cycle with Engine Integration and Validation teams.
- Support Technology Readiness Level initiatives and technology transfer into product development programs.
- Monitor key metrics for quality, testing, issue resolution, and project execution.
- Foster collaboration between North American and European engineering teams through employee exchanges and global alignment initiatives.
- Provide technical support to PACCAR plants, divisions, and key stakeholders.
- Support compliance and certification activities for global engine programs.
- Monitor competitive products and industry technology trends.
- Collaborate with industry, academia, laboratories, and suppliers on innovation efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience; engineering management required.
- Proven experience leading large engineering teams.
- Experience in commercial vehicle engine development, including aftertreatment, OBD, emissions, and regulatory requirements.
- Systems integration experience from development through production.
- Strong cross-functional, multicultural collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working across PACCAR divisions and engineering organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.

Additional Job Board Information
At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this role is $109,000-$191,500 annually. This position is also eligible for a 25% IC. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
