About this role

JOB SUMMARY

The Nutrition Services Associate provides support for nutrition education, wellness programming, and nutrition-related services under the direction of a qualified nutrition professional. Assists with client education, data collection, program coordination, and administrative activities while gaining practical experience in preparation for a career as a nutrition professional.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Assist with nutrition education and wellness activities.
- Prepare educational materials, presentations, and resources related to healthy eating and wellness.
- Assist with meal planning, nutrition programming, and special projects.
- Help support the food service team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals.
- While this job description covers many aspects of the role, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.
- Expected completion of degree and/or eligibility for professional nutrition credentials preferred.
- Prior experience in healthcare, community nutrition, food service, wellness, or customer service is preferred but not required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Must maintain enrollment and satisfactory academic standing in an applicable nutrition or dietetics program.

- Basic knowledge of nutrition, wellness, and healthy eating principles.

- Ability to explain information clearly to individuals with varying levels of health and nutrition knowledge.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or electronic documentation systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidence-based nutrition practice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

- The following physical demands are required: Occasional sitting (up to 5 hours)
- Occasional standing (up to 1 hour)
- Occasional walking (up to 2 hours)
- Occasional driving (up to 3 hours)
- Continuous balancing (up to 1 hour)
- Occasional balancing, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching forward or down, reaching overhead, running, and twisting (up to 1 hour)
- Weekly lifting up to 25 lbs., 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis
- Weekly carrying up to 25 lbs. approximately 10-100 ft., 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis

- Manual dexterity is required, including the frequent ability to grasp in both hands and continuous use of fine manipulation skills in both hands (approximately 1-2.5 hrs.)
- Protective clothing or equipment required: Close toed shoes, Gloves for food preparation
$18.50 Minimum pay rate, $24.00 Maximum pay rate, based on experience.
