Cottage Pet Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. We’re seeking a dependable, detail-oriented veterinary professional who is passionate about patient care, enjoys working collaboratively, and is interested in sharing their knowledge and skills with the rest of the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RVT who wants to take on a strong clinical role with an emphasis on anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and team development .
Pay: $32.00–$38.00/hour, depending on experience
$2,500 Sign-On Bonus
What You'll Do
As an RVT at Cottage Pet Hospital, you will play an important role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the hospital's day-to-day medical and surgical operations. Responsibilities include:
- Rooming patients and obtaining thorough medical histories
- Assisting with surgical procedures and maintaining efficient surgical flow
- Providing strong anesthesia monitoring and perioperative patient care
- Placing IV catheters and drawing blood
- Running and interpreting routine in-house bloodwork
- Performing dental procedures, including dental extractions
- Taking diagnostic radiographs and ensuring proper patient positioning
- Safely handling and restraining patients
- Educating clients on patient care, treatment recommendations, and follow-up
- Managing surgery-related inventory, medications, and supplies
- Assisting with surgery scheduling and helping ensure procedures stay on schedule
- Supporting the training, development, and mentorship of other veterinary team members
- Serving as a positive, knowledgeable resource for veterinary technicians and support staff
What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
- 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience
- Strong experience with anesthesia monitoring
- Experience performing dental extractions
- Strong surgical experience and understanding of perioperative patient care
- Ability to teach, train, and mentor veterinary team members
- Experience managing surgical and back-of-house inventory
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A dependable, detail-oriented approach to patient care
- Commitment to compassionate patient care and client education
- Availability to work weekends
- Ability to work full-time
