Position Overview
Woolpert is hiring a Sr. Stormwater Site/Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Water Team in Virginia . This position is primarily responsible for assisting with technical delivery on projects as well as reporting for specific project phase(s) and/or task(s). This position is key in establishing and improving levels of team technical competency, quality, and efficiency. This position will be part of a team engaging stormwater and energy clients in Virginia and Pennsylvania as well as across the country in support of client objectives in the areas of Water Resources Design, Drainage Design, Utilities Design, Site Civil Design, Process Improvement, and related studies and analyses.

What You Will Do:
- Support various phases of our Site/Civil projects for energy clients in Virginia, specifically in the areas of stormwater and erosion and sediment control design and permitting.
- Stormwater and erosion and sediment control design that meet local and state regulatory requirements
- Prepare all permitting documents for zoning permit approval through NPDES stormwater permit approval.
- Perform technical aspects of specified deliverables and lead a junior team member in creating deliverables consistent with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to junior team members and perform quality control of deliverables produced by junior team members
- Manage phases of projects, ensuring completion of work that meets quality assurance requirements.
- Perform field work and attend public meetings, as needed.
- Analyze and interpret information, including field data, to present to clients in a meaningful format.
- Meet internal and/or external project deadlines.
- Comply with and implement clearly defined QA/QC measures.
- Communicate issues affecting phase/task or project schedule, budget, or quality and escalate unresolved issues to the project manager, team leader, and/or discipline leader.
- Support the development and advancement of stormwater design projects with consideration of local regulatory requirements and design standards.
- Analyze and interpret stormwater model results for project development and capital improvement program planning.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Biosystems, or a related engineering program.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, or the ability to obtain, within 3 months of joining Woolpert .
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability and willingness to obtain PE licensure in additional states.
- Willingness to perform technical tasks as assigned, as well as ensure the completion of additional tasks by other team members.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong organizational skills to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Ability to interface effectively with clients, team members, and other firm resources.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D
- Must be proficient in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., Hydraflow or HydroCad)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data.
- Task and personnel management experience is preferred.
Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Pay Range $87,100 — $130,700 USD
