Amentum is seeking an experienced Maintenance/Reliability Planning Supervisor for our Facility Maintenance team in Davenport IA!
- Monday - Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30pm.; hours may vary based on business demand.
- Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation
This position combines hands-on maintenance leadership with maintenance planning and scheduling responsibilities , making it ideal for an organization that requires a working supervisor capable of driving reliability, compliance, workforce performance, and customer satisfaction
This position is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations while leading maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management processes for the facility.
This position ensures preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, asset reliability, and subcontractor activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
The role serves as the primary liaison between maintenance technicians, operations, customers, and suppliers to ensure work is properly planned, prioritized, and completed with minimal disruption to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop weekly and monthly maintenance schedules based on customer priorities, preventive maintenance requirements, regulatory compliance, and asset criticality.
- Review, prioritize, and assign work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Coordinate labor, materials, tools, permits, and contractor resources required for maintenance activities.
- Monitor PM completion rates, backlog management, and work order performance metrics.
- Ensure maintenance activities are properly planned to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Maintain asset hierarchies, equipment records, and PM programs within the CMMS.
Operational Supervision
- Direct and supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and support personnel.
- Conduct daily work planning meetings and communicate priorities to the maintenance team.
- Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to established standards.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex maintenance issues.
- Ensure timely response to emergency and reactive maintenance requests.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring equipment failures and implement corrective action plans.
- Analyze maintenance KPIs including: PM Compliance
- Schedule Compliance
- Work Order Completion
- Maintenance Backlog
- Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
- Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
- Support reliability-centered maintenance initiatives and asset lifecycle planning.
- Recommend improvements to equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and resource utilization.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined Space Entry
- Hot Work
- Electrical Safety
- Permit-to-Work Requirements
- Conduct safety observations and participate in incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, customer standards, and company policies.
- Verify all maintenance documentation is complete and audit-ready.
Customer & Supplier Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related customer concerns.
- Coordinate activities with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Assist with service agreements, vendor performance evaluations, and scope development.
- Maintain positive customer relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution.
Budget & Inventory Management
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting for maintenance operations.
- Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate procurement of maintenance materials and services.
- Oversee MRO inventory levels to ensure parts availability while minimizing excess inventory.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, Business Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 5+ years of industrial, facilities, or maintenance management experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with CMMS systems such as Corrigo, Maximo, SAP PM, Maintenance Connection, or similar platforms.
- Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities in a manufacturing or facilities environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM)
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk facilities, climb stairs, access mechanical spaces, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in both office and industrial environments.
- Occasional after-hours, weekend, and emergency response support may be required.

Compensation Details:
$95,000 - $100,000
