ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald’s NOR (Northern Ontario Region) Service team is growing! If you are an independent, enthusiastic and driven professional searching for an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. This position reports directly to the Division Manager and will be working in Ottawa for the NOR region.

The primary goal of the Service Account Representative is to ensure client satisfaction, contract delivery and secure projects with our existing client base.

- Complete internal client reviews
- Utilize the training provided to prospect, qualify, support estimating, prepare proposals, and secure sustainable service project business
- Establish and maintain working relationships with customers and ensure contract delivery is to Black & McDonalds’ expectations.
- Work with existing and new customers to develop life cycle plans for their facilities
- Write proposals, conduct equipment surveys and develop proposals that will create value for our clients
- Review results of completed projects with Management and project team members
- Assist with any special requests
- Provide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts based on direct experiences with clients

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- A university degree or college diploma in business, engineering or related field as appropriate.
- Years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in the construction, mechanical and/or HVAC industry may substitute for education requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- 1-3 years’ experience in HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing.
- Experience with Mechanical trade account management.
- Project sales experience would be considered an asset.
- Building automation controls experience would be considered an asset.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Able to travel on occasion in order to meet prospect requests and project requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Project management and implementation
- Safe Work Practices
- Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

The expected salary range for this role is between $55,000 - $70,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
