About this role

Job Description:

Inline Drywall Illinois, Inc. is a union commercial drywall and carpentry contractor operating in the Chicago metropolitan area. The Company is a signatory contractor to the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters (CRCC) collective bargaining agreement. The Carpenter Foreman leads a crew of union carpenters performing metal stud framing, drywall hanging, and finish carpentry on commercial jobsites, ensuring work is completed safely, per plans and specifications, and on schedule.

What Will You Do?

- Supervise and direct the daily activities of the carpenter crew in accordance with approved drawings and specifications

- Perform and verify layout of metal stud framing, door/window openings, soffits, and ceiling grid systems

- Perform material orders and coordinate material deliveries, staging, and manpower needs with the Project Manager and Laborers

- Ensure crew compliance with the Company's safety program, required PPE, and OSHA regulations

- Complete accurate daily reports, timecards, and manpower logs

- Communicate progress, delays, and field issues to the Project Manager/Superintendent in a timely manner

- Coordinate sequencing with other trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) for in-wall rough-in work

- Maintain tool and equipment inventory and ensure an organized, safe jobsite

- Enforce CRCC work rules and jurisdictional agreements on the jobsite

- Train and mentor journeyman and apprentice carpenters on the crew

What You Bring

- 5+ years of experience as a journeyman carpenter in commercial construction, including prior lead or foreman experience

- Active member in good standing with the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, or eligible for union referral

- Strong working knowledge of metal stud framing, drywall hanging, and blueprint/specification reading

- OSHA 10-Hour certification required; OSHA 30-Hour preferred

- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

- Valid driver's license preferred

Salary Range:

Carpenter Foreman pay rates per the CRCC CBA
