About this role

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, operate, and continuously improve the organization’s enterprise data platform.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing administration of the data platform using Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Azure.
- Manage platform configuration, access, security, capacity, availability, performance, and cost optimization.
- Oversee Microsoft Fabric capabilities, including OneLake, Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, Real-Time Intelligence, and Power BI.
- Establish and maintain platform standards, governance controls, operating procedures, and recommended practices.
- Oversee data ingestion, integration, transformation, and orchestration capabilities supporting reporting, analytics, AI, and business decision-making.
- Manage platform monitoring, workload optimization, performance tuning, incident resolution, and operational support.
- Lead DevOps and CI/CD practices for platform configuration, development, testing, deployment, and release management.
- Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, product owners, data governance teams, and other technology stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data security, privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements.
- Evaluate and implement new Microsoft Fabric and Azure features to support evolving organizational requirements.
- Manage platform capacity planning and support the financial governance of cloud-based data services.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineers, platform engineers, database administrators, and other solution teams.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate technical support when required.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support the platform and respond to operational incidents.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the enterprise data platform.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of experience working with enterprise data platforms, cloud data architectures, data warehousing, data integration, or analytics solutions.
- At least four years of experience administering or managing modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience administering a major SaaS or cloud data platform, such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift.
- Strong experience managing platform configuration, security, access, capacity, availability, monitoring, and performance.
- Strong understanding of modern data platform architecture, data warehousing, data lakes, and enterprise data integration.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale data modernization, implementation, or migration initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, data security, privacy, and access-management principles.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with data transformation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, and release-management practices.
- Experience managing operational incidents and resolving complex platform issues.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to translate technical platform requirements into operational plans and scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams and operate effectively within a global organization.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and attend occasional meetings outside standard local working hours.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure and Azure Data Services.
- Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Purview, Azure AI, or related Microsoft data technologies.
- Previous people-management or team-leadership experience.
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or generative AI data workloads.
- Familiarity with data mesh, data products, enterprise architecture, and modern data-management frameworks.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost-optimization practices.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
