Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 or 4 located in Boulder, CO.

What you’ll get to do?

As a Systems Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers providing system integration for the definition, development, decomposition analysis, verification, and validation of requirements for an antenna ground system in development. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with program leadership and the customer to ensure the technical aspects are continuously adapted and aligned, guiding the program through its critical milestones to achieve mission success. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones including acceptance testing, initial operational capacity, and final operational capacity to achieve the mission.

Additionally, this position will span across exciting new programs, on contract to provide the system integration for delivering ground segments for a diverse set of space programs. This work will span system integration of future systems, antenna systems, and system infrastructure. We have anticipated future growth to deliver additional ground capabilities.

This requisition may be filled with a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either a level 3 or level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.

- Active Secret clearance required at time of application
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing relationships with customers and subcontractors. Proven success in agile project execution, faster iteration cycles, and rapid prototype development.
- Experience in the design, development, and integration of antennas and shelter systems.
- Proven track record working on programs that deliver ground system solutions capable of accessing and integrating data from space, aerial, and terrestrial sensors.

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.

- Active Secret clearance required at time of application
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing relationships with customers and subcontractors. Proven success in agile project execution, faster iteration cycles, and rapid prototype development.
- Experience in the design, development, and integration of antennas and shelter systems.
- Proven track record working on programs that deliver ground system solutions capable of accessing and integrating data from space, aerial, and terrestrial sensors.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design
- Proven ability to iterate quickly on design and development processes, incorporating feedback and making improvements

- Proficiency in conducting environmental, MILSTD, and factory-acceptance  testing to ensure the robustness and resilience of ground systems under various conditions.

- Experience with Agile development processes, including rapid iteration cycles to incorporate feedback and improve systems with speed and efficiency.
- Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
- Demonstrated experience with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, secure network communications, network infrastructure design to meet operational security standards (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, and system hardening).
- Excellent technical writing and team building skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
