INNOCEAN USA , a full-service ad agency located in sunny Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a short-term freelance Media Intellligence Analyst to join our team!
This contract is 11/16/26 -3/26/27.
We are a hybrid workplace, x3 days week in-office. Candidates must be local to SoCal.
No third party vendors, please.
OVERVIEW:
The Media Intelligence Analyst will support the IUS Media Intelligence team by compiling, organizing and analyzing various data sources tracking competitive and client performance. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the IUS Media Intelligence and IUS Media Strategy teams to provide regular reporting both internally and to clients.
The candidate will need to work closely with external vendors providing data and measurement services to identify gaps in data accuracy and strategy while collaboratively implementing enhancements. The candidate will also be expected to partner across not only the media team, but other IUS disciplines and external agencies, such as Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Strategy, and Account teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support in the development of competitive media insights through strategic analyses and performance reports. This includes large data set management, creating automated and semi-automated data cuts for faster analysis and building digestible visualizations of the data/analyses for executive client presentations.
- Monitor, track, analyze and report on competitive media performance and industry trends that identify issues and/or proactively lead to marketing ideas, opportunities and potential strategies and solutions.
- Ongoing analysis of primary and secondary research to develop a strong understanding of our clients marketplace and competitive environment.
- Ongoing support for client ad-hoc requests with critical deadlines.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical literacy and the ability to quickly pick up new tools and data platforms.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities without sacrificing quality.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical data analysis to marketing generalists.
- Understanding of media strategy and performance measurement, including comfort with core media metrics such as share of voice (SOV), share of impressions (SOI), and share of market (SOM).
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of experience working in data analytics or related role
- Media agency or ad agency experience REQUIRED
- Automotive experience, general knowledge of the auto industry, or a genuine interest in cars preferred
Technical Knowledge:
Intermediate level or above, using the following tools:
- Tableau ( or similar): setting up data sets and building clear, insightful visualizations and dashboards
- Excel: comfortable working with pivot tables, advanced formulas, and large data sets
- PowerPoint : building polished, executive-ready presentations
- SQL : writing queries to pull and/or transform data
- Data warehousing principles (Databricks or similar)
- AI prompting (Copilot or similar) to speed up analysis and reporting
- Bonus : experience with forecasting and modeling

The salary for this role is $90,000. Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: budget, client, experience, training and/or transferable skills.
