# A Day in the Life
The AI & Digital Finance Transformation team partners with Finance, Information Technology (IT), Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to modernize financial processes through advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), intelligent automation, and cloud-based data platforms. The team develops scalable reporting, forecasting, automation, and decision-support solutions that improve visibility, strengthen financial decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency across the enterprise.

This position is based in Fridley, Minnesota and follows an onsite work arrangement.
Travel up to 10% may be required to support business initiatives, stakeholder collaboration, and project execution.
The AI & Digital Finance Transformation Engineer supports the design, development, and deployment of digital finance solutions that leverage cloud data platforms, analytics, automation, and AI technologies. This role collaborates with Finance, IT, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to build data products, reporting solutions, and intelligent workflows that improve financial operations, reporting accuracy, and business insights.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive finance transformation by delivering AI-powered analytics, reporting, and automation solutions that improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline finance processes using Generative AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, and agent-based workflows.
- Build and support data pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions using Databricks, Snowflake, PowerBI, and related technologies.
- Translate complex finance and business requirements into sustainable technology solutions that enable growth and scalability.
- Ensure reliability of finance data and automation platforms through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization.
- Strengthen data governance, security, and controls while promoting adoption of digital finance tools and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in finance systems, data analytics, information technology, accounting, or finance technology solutions.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, and automation.
- Experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, analytics, reporting, or automation development.
- Experience supporting financial reporting, planning, forecasting, or finance operations in a corporate environment.
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI or machine learning to finance use cases including forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, natural language processing, or intelligent automation.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, semantic modeling, data governance, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Power BI, Streamlit, or enterprise reporting and visualization platforms.
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, AI agents, APIs, or modern AI development frameworks.
- Experience supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) or finance platforms such as SAP, BlackLine, or Redwood.
- Understanding of data governance, security, controls, and compliance in a regulated enterprise environment.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$73,600.00 - $110,400.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
