# A Day in the Life
The AI & Digital Finance Transformation team partners with Finance, Information Technology (IT), Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to modernize financial processes through advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), intelligent automation, and cloud-based data platforms. The team develops scalable reporting, forecasting, automation, and decision-support solutions that improve visibility, strengthen financial decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency across the enterprise.

This position is based in Fridley, Minnesota and follows an onsite work arrangement.
Travel up to 10% may be required to support business initiatives, stakeholder collaboration, and project execution.
The Principal AI & Digital Finance Transformation Enginee r leads the design and delivery of AI-enabled analytics, reporting, and automation solutions that advance Finance transformation initiatives. This role combines technical leadership, data engineering, and finance domain expertise to develop scalable solutions that improve financial insights, optimize processes, and accelerate adoption of emerging digital technologies across the enterprise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of AI-driven analytics, reporting, and automation solutions for Finance.
- Design scalable data and analytics platforms leveraging machine learning, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation technologies.
- Identify opportunities to transform finance processes through Generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, and workflow automation.
- Partner with Finance, Information Technology, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
- Develop and influence solutions utilizing Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Power BI, and related cloud analytics technologies.
- Establish standards for data governance, security, controls, and solution architecture across finance data environments.
- Mentor technical and business teams on AI, analytics, and automation capabilities to drive adoption and capability development.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, resolve complex data and reporting issues, and lead strategic digital finance initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience OR advanced degree with 8+ years of experience in Finance Systems, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or related digital transformation environments.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale AI, analytics, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, analytics technologies, and modern data architectures.
- Advanced SQL and Python development experience supporting data pipelines, analytics solutions, and automation workflows.
- Experience supporting financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and finance operations processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI and machine learning to financial forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, natural language processing, or intelligent automation use cases.
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex Agents, AI agent frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and application programming interface (API) integrations.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Streamlit, or enterprise reporting and visualization platforms.
- Experience developing modern business applications using React and integrating enterprise data, APIs, and automation workflows.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms including SAP, BlackLine, Redwood, or similar finance technologies, and experience supporting data governance or compliance programs.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$117,600.00 - $176,400.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
