The Work You Will Do:
In this role, you will provide support to the Communications Director and team for office operations and communications strategies, as well as work on special projects as needed. The Communications Office plays a vital role in conveying the department's story. This office is responsible for keeping the public, transportation stakeholders, the media, and staff informed about FDOT projects, initiatives, partnerships, and educational campaigns FDOT has communications staff in each district office throughout the state who work to communicate the department’s message collectively.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Assists in planning, coordinating, and organizing various work assignments and projects.
- Assists in the preparation and distribution of external communications materials, such as social media posts, digital graphics, etc.
- Assists in the preparation and implementation of internal communications materials, such as newsletters, internal department messages from leadership, and more.
- Assists in the preparation and dissemination of general correspondence, such as emails, spreadsheets, letters, reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Provides back-up support to other members of the Communications Office as needed.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices

Skills in:
- Skill in listening to and understanding the needs of both internal and external customers in a courteous, respectful and effective manner
- Skill in independent planning, coordinating, completing and tracking the status of assignments
- Skill in Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and TEAMS;

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification supporting citizenship or authority to work for the duration of program participation.

- Department’s policies, procedures, regulations, and Code of Ethics.
