The Work You Will Do:
CADD Application Support Specialist /Production Support/CADD
This position is essential to ensuring the effective use, reliability, and continual improvement of the organization’s CADD applications. These tools are used by both internal staff and external clients, making consistent support, training, and maintenance critical to operational efficiency and project delivery. This position provides direct production assistance to CADD users across all supported applications and software. By offering timely troubleshooting, user support, and workflow guidance, the role helps maintain productivity, reduce downtime, and ensure that project teams can meet established deadlines and standards.
In addition to daily support, this position plays a key role in the strategic development and customization of CADD software, procedures, standards, and workflows. It assists with planning and distributing updates, enhancements, and documentation, ensuring that users have access to the most current tools and best practices. This work directly aligns with organizational goals for standardization, quality control, and continuous improvement.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Provide support and training for Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) application used by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This includes providing production assistance to CADD users of FDOT supported CADD applications. Provide multi-venue training opportunities such as: Teams Meetings, Webinars, Hands-on/On-Site training and Conference/Event training. Support the Department's Digital Delivery processes, including FDOT's document management systems used in CADD production. Report support activities in the appropriate incident log and make reports to management as required.
Assist with the development, customization, planning and distribution of CADD software updates, procedures, standards, and workflows used to define CADD Standards for CADD software and processes. Assist with execution of certification testing of CADD software, which includes working with developers to resolve issues found during testing before the CADD software is released. Also serve as a technical advisor and facilitate discipline-based Technical Advisory Committees (TACs), reporting these activities to management as required.
Assist in the development, maintenance and application of documentation associated with the Department's CADD applications. This includes: the FDOT CADD Manual, Help Files, CADD Office Website and SharePoint Portals. Assist in the review, development, and maintenance of CADD training curriculum including formal training manuals and similar courseware, hands-on/self-serve CADD training guides, and Teams Meeting/Webinar training videos. Report activities and progress to management as required.
Assist with the development and management of technical specifications and requirements for the development of CADD software by either FDOT or contracted developers as requested. This includes monitoring development progress and technical work in accordance with those technical requirements and specifications. Report activities and progress to management as required.
Attend conferences, technical seminars, working sessions, and other venues to acquire knowledge of trends and other developments related to CADD and FDOT's design processes. Perform research of literature, Internet, vendor materials, and other sources to expand personal knowledge of computer hardware, CADD software, and CADD training. Share this acquired knowledge with peers and supervisors, and periodically report developments as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of continuous employment experience or two years of higher education with a cumulative of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours.
