NARA Northwest is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and hands-on Transport professional to support our facilities and transportation operations throughout the Portland metro area. The Driver/Transporter plays a vital role in ensuring our facilities, equipment, and transportation needs are maintained and operated safely and efficiently in support of NARA Northwest's mission and services.

Position Overview:
The Driver is responsible for assisting with maintenance and upkeep of NARA Northwest facilities, equipment, and grounds while also providing transportation support. This position works closely with the Facility Director to help maintain safe, functional, and compliant facilities across multiple NARA Northwest locations.
This role includes driving between locations, supporting inventory and warehouse functions, responding to maintenance requests, and assisting with transportation duties.
What you will do:
- Drive between NARA locations to transport supplies, equipment, materials, and other resources.
- Shuttle staff, clients, or move equipment as requested.
- Perform general facility inspections, basic repairs, and vehicle maintenance.
- Assist with maintaining facility grounds, equipment, storage areas, and warehouse spaces.
- Assist with inventory management of supplies, equipment, tools, and facility materials.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and completed work.
- Support compliance with organizational policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, contractors, and community members while maintaining professional boundaries and respectful relationships.
- Attend department and facility meetings and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We would like to hear from people that have:
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and active auto insurance
- Experience performing general maintenance, repair, custodial, warehouse, or facilities-related work preferred.
- Basic experience with vehicle maintenance, including:
Oil changes
- Lube jobs
- Tire rotations
- Coordinating or replacing tires as needed
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Successful completion of criminal background and DMV checks.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and for-cause drug screening.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with youth
- Professional driving or transportation experience
- Experience working within Native American and/or Alaska Native communities
