Position Overview
S:US is seeking a Live -In Residential Building Handyperson (Superintendent) for their supportive housing program in the Bronx.
Program Location: Macombs Road Bronx, New York 10452
The Residential Building Handyperson will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness ande minor repairs in a residential shelter.
Responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of a supportive housing residential building. This is a hands-on role that oversees Maintenance Workers and Porters while performing building repairs, responding to maintenance requests, coordinating apartment turnovers, preparing for inspections, and ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and compliant.
Candidates should have strong experience with general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, locks, heating, and ventilation systems.
Prior experience in residential housing, property management, supportive housing, or apartment building maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess at least five years of experience with building functions, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems, as well as completing routine tasks such as fixing leaky pipes, painting rooms, patching drywall, and fitting locks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Passionate about the S:US mission generally and the provision of supportive housing in particular.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated.Ability to manage other employees in a high-paced, dynamic atmosphere.
- Excellent written, oral, and email communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
