The Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Platforms leads the Second Line of Defence (2LoD) risk and compliance function for AMP’s Platforms business. The role supports the Chief Risk Officer, Wealth to provide independent oversight, constructive challenge and practical advice to the Platforms executive team and relevant Boards and committees, supporting effective management of operational, compliance, strategic, change and emerging risks.
The role is accountable for high-quality risk insights, timely escalation, strong governance and effective embedding of AMP’s Risk Management Framework across Platforms. Through leadership of a small specialist team, the role helps protect customer outcomes, strengthen control effectiveness, support regulatory confidence and enable sustainable business delivery within risk appetite.

How you will make an impact
- Lead AMP's Second Line of Defence (2LoD) Enterprise Risk Management function for Platforms, developing a high-performing team and fostering a culture of accountability, constructive challenge and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Group Executive, Platforms and senior leadership team to provide independent risk and compliance oversight, advice and challenge across strategic initiatives, business transformation, operational risk, compliance risk and key business decisions.
- Oversee the correct application of the Risk Management Framework by the Platforms business, including risk appetite, risk strategy, controls, obligations management and governance arrangements, ensuring effective management of current and emerging risks.
- Provide Line 2 oversight of operational risk and compliance across Platforms, including oversight of control assurance, risk events, breaches, regulatory obligations and sustainable remediation outcomes.
- Deliver clear and actionable risk insights to senior management, Boards and Committees, while challenging first line risk practices to strengthen risk and compliance outcomes across the business.
- Oversee the risk implications of major projects, business change, product developments and outsourcing arrangements, while maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders, auditors and independent expert
What you will bring to the role
- Significant risk and compliance leadership experience within Platforms, retail funds management, superannuation or broader Australian financial services environments.
- Deep understanding of risks associated with Platforms and investment administration businesses, including dependencies across superannuation and investment operations.
- Excellent knowledge of Australian financial services regulatory obligations, governance requirements, compliance frameworks and risk management practices.
- Proven second line risk experience, including enterprise risk management, operational risk, compliance oversight, obligations management and risk framework implementation.
- Experience supporting regulatory change, control framework uplift, incident and breach management, assurance activities and sustainable remediation outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering risk, compliance, audit or assurance reporting for senior management, Boards and governance forums.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Compliance, Governance, Commerce, Finance, Law or a related discipline. Professional or postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.

You combine technical expertise with sound judgement, enabling you to identify emerging themes, understand business interdependencies and provide pragmatic solutions that support both customer and business outcomes.
You are highly effective at building trusted relationships and are confident providing constructive challenge, advice and influence across senior stakeholder groups. Whether engaging with executives, Boards, business leaders or external stakeholders, you are able to communicate complex risk and compliance matters in a clear, practical and meaningful way, tailoring your approach to different audiences.
As a people leader, you are passionate about developing capability, fostering accountability and creating a high-performing team culture. You lead with authenticity and integrity, balancing commercial outcomes with strong risk management and governance practices.
You are organised, adaptable and outcomes-focused, with the ability to operate at both a strategic and detailed level. You thrive in a changing environment, make sound decisions when faced with competing priorities and remain focused on delivering sustainable outcomes while working collaboratively across the three lines of defence.
