At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
Blue Origin is pioneering the future of space-based communications with TeraWave, a revolutionary satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This multi-orbit constellation will consist of optically interconnected satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) and medium Earth orbit (MEO), providing enterprise-grade connectivity for critical operations worldwide.
Terawave is Blue Origin's commercial satellite communications network, a 6 Tbps constellation delivering enterprise-grade broadband to the most demanding customers on Earth. As Senior Product Manager for User Terminals, you will own Terawave's subscriber-side hardware portfolio from concept to global deployment. You will define the terminal roadmap across form factors and market verticals, drive new product introductions from requirements through type approval and volume production, and build the ecosystem that puts Terawave connectivity into customers' hands. This role sits at the intersection of RF engineering, regulatory compliance, supply chain, and sales, and demands both deep technical fluency in satellite terminal hardware and sharp commercial judgment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own the user terminal product portfolio: define and maintain the multi-year roadmap aligned to Terawave's enterprise service tiers and target verticals.
- Author clear, testable hardware and software product requirements and technical specifications for use by Terawave engineering teams.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI): drive terminal programs from concept through qualification testing, type approval, regulatory certification, and volume production ramp, coordinating across engineering, program management, supply chain, and contract manufacturers.
- Develop and execute the regulatory and certification strategy for each terminal tier.
- Translate enterprise vertical needs into terminal configurations: conduct customer discovery and competitive analysis across segments to define differentiated terminal bundles and deployment packages.
- Define SWaP and installation specifications (size, weight, power, mounting, and environmental hardening) for each terminal tier, balancing RF performance against deployment constraints in target verticals and platforms.
- Build the business case for terminal investments: develop pricing models, total cost of ownership analyses, BOM cost targets for new terminal programs.
- Partner with Terawave's network and service product teams to ensure terminal capabilities align with service tier commitments, SLA architectures, and network management and provisioning requirements.
- Support sales cycles: develop terminal selection guides, qualification test plans, and technical sales collateral; provide product expertise for pre-sales and integration engagements with Terawave's key accounts.
- Mentor other PMs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, RF and microwave engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 8 or more years of product management or technical program management experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of a hardware product through the full NPI lifecycle: requirements definition, design validation, qualification testing, type approval, and volume production ramp.
- Ability to author precise, testable hardware and software product requirements.
- Strong commercial acumen: experience developing BOM cost targets, total cost of ownership models, and business case analyses for hardware programs.
- U.S. Person.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree or MBA with an engineering or technical undergraduate foundation.
- Experience serving enterprise connectivity verticals such as maritime, aeronautical, energy and oil-and-gas, land mobility, or government and defense satcom.
- Experience with terminal network management software, remote provisioning and monitoring systems, or embedded firmware for satellite terminals.
