About this role

£26,227.50 - £28,860 per annum

The role

Are you organised, approachable and interested in developing a career in information technology support?

We are looking for an IT Administrative Assistant to help keep our Technology team running smoothly. This varied role combines IT administration, first-line technical support, asset and licence management, purchasing and customer service.

You will be one of the first points of contact for colleagues who need help with technical queries. You will answer calls, log service desk tickets and provide straightforward first-line support. You will also help maintain accurate IT asset and licensing records, process purchase orders and invoices, manage departmental correspondence and support day-to-day purchasing.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with good basic IT skills, strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in learning. Previous experience in an IT department would be helpful, but it is not essential. Your ability to stay organised, communicate clearly and provide a helpful service is just as important.

By supporting reliable and efficient technology services, you will help colleagues across Energy Saving Trust carry out work that addresses the climate emergency and supports people and communities.

The team

You will join Energy Saving Trust’s Technology team and report to the IT Service Desk Manager.

The team provides practical technology support across the organisation, helping colleagues to access the systems, equipment and services they need to work effectively. You will work closely with other members of the IT team and build relationships with colleagues across different departments, including Finance.

You will join a supportive environment where you can develop your technical and administrative skills, learn from experienced colleagues and contribute ideas that improve how the team works.

What you will do

- Act as a first point of contact for technical queries, answer calls and log tickets accurately in the service desk system.
- Provide first-line IT support to colleagues across the organisation.
- Maintain accurate IT asset and software licence records, complete reconciliations and produce reports.
- Process purchase orders, invoices and departmental credit card purchases, working closely with Finance and external suppliers.
- Support the Technology team with correspondence, equipment, consumables, audiovisual setups and other general administrative tasks.

What you will bring

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with accuracy and close attention to detail.
- Basic IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and similar workplace tools.
- Experience of managing licences, assets, invoices or financial records, with the ability to keep information accurate and traceable.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to understand what users need and explain information in an accessible way.
- A collaborative approach, enthusiasm for learning and the ability to build effective working relationships across different teams.

Previous experience in an IT department is desirable, although your ability, enthusiasm and willingness to develop are equally important.
