Overview & Highlights
We are seeking an experienced eClinicalWorks (eCW) Trainer to provide hands-on EMR training, new-hire education, workflow optimization, and go-live support for healthcare professionals across multiple outpatient clinic locations.
Previous professional experience as an eCW Trainer is required for this position.
This role is ideal for an experienced eCW Trainer who combines advanced system knowledge with excellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. The eCW Trainer will work directly with front office teams, clinical staff, providers, operational leadership, and IT to ensure users are confident and proficient in utilizing eClinicalWorks.
The position includes a combination of structured office-based training and regular travel throughout Arizona.
- Monday & Tuesday: In-office new-hire training
- Wednesday–Friday: Travel to clinics to provide on-site training
- Travel Territory: Phoenix metropolitan area, Prescott, Tucson, Sierra Vista, and other Arizona clinic locations as needed
- Compensation: $80,000–$90,000 annually

Position Summary
The eClinicalWorks (eCW) Trainer is responsible for delivering comprehensive EMR training and ongoing education to front office staff, back office staff, clinical teams, and healthcare providers.
This individual will provide both in-person and remote training, assist with eCW implementations and provider onboarding, troubleshoot workflow challenges, and support users during clinic and provider go-lives.
The Trainer will also collaborate closely with IT and operational teams to identify opportunities to improve eClinicalWorks workflows, enhance system utilization, and increase efficiency throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver best-practice eClinicalWorks training to new hires, existing employees, and healthcare providers.
- Conduct structured new-hire training sessions each Monday and Tuesday.
- Travel to clinic locations throughout Arizona to provide provider go-live and at-the-elbow support.
- Train front office, back office, clinical, billing, and provider users on applicable eCW workflows.
- Deliver both in-person and remote training sessions using Microsoft Teams and other approved technology.
- Provide continuing education and refresher training for existing eCW users.
- Partner with the IT department to review, troubleshoot, and resolve EMR-related help-desk tickets.
- Utilize the eClinicalWorks support ticket system to research and address system-related issues.
- Manage eClinicalWorks ePrescription and Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) licensing applications and provider onboarding.
- Participate in full eClinicalWorks implementation projects, including migrations from existing EMR platforms to eClinicalWorks.
- Provide hands-on support during system implementations, clinic transitions, and provider go-lives.
- Evaluate and optimize eCW workflows for providers, clinical staff, administrative teams, and clinic operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, system utilization, and the overall user experience.
- Assist with collecting, maintaining, and distributing training checklists and documentation.
- Collaborate on innovation and process-improvement initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency and patient care.
- Manage multiple training, implementation, and optimization projects simultaneously.
- Assist with Training & Development initiatives and administrative responsibilities as needed.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable eCW resource for employees and providers.
Required Qualifications
- Previous professional experience as an eClinicalWorks (eCW) Trainer is required.
- Strong hands-on experience utilizing eClinicalWorks in a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of EMR workflows across front office, back office, clinical, billing, and provider functions.
- Experience using or supporting the eClinicalWorks support ticket system .
- Strong knowledge of healthcare practice workflows and EMR functionality.
- Comfortable providing hands-on, at-the-elbow training and go-live support.
- Strong presentation, teaching, and group facilitation skills.
- Ability to train users with varying levels of technical and EMR experience.
- Proficiency providing remote training and technical support through Microsoft Teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with providers, clinical staff, operations, leadership, and IT teams.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Arizona.
Preferred Qualifications
- eCW University and/or eCW Superuser training.
- Experience serving as an eCW Superuser.
- Experience as an eCW Trainer, EMR Trainer, EHR Trainer, Clinical Applications Trainer, or EMR Implementation Specialist .
- Experience supporting eCW implementations, migrations, upgrades, or provider go-lives.
- Experience training physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, front office teams, and other healthcare staff.
- Experience with ePrescribing and EPCS provider onboarding.
- Previous experience working within a multi-site outpatient healthcare organization.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced eCW Trainer who enjoys teaching others and can translate complex EMR workflows into practical, easy-to-understand training.
Experience as an eCW Superuser or completion of eCW University / Superuser training is highly preferred.
You should be comfortable moving between the classroom and the clinic—leading structured new-hire training one day and providing hands-on provider support during a go-live the next. Success in this position requires adaptability, confidence, patience, strong communication skills, and a willingness to travel throughout Arizona.
