Senior Group Accountant (External Reporting) Step into a high-visibility, 12-month contract within our award-winning finance function and take the lead in delivering critical reporting for the Board, CFO, and public markets. Working in a supportive and truly flexible environment, you will partner directly with key leaders to shape financial narratives and drive operational efficiencies across Australia’s largest retailer. What you'll do:
- Lead the preparation of high-profile financial reports, profit announcements, and analyst presentations for public release, the Board, and Executive leadership.
- Draft key finance papers, detailed reports, and strategic analysis directly for the CFO and Audit Committee.
- Deliver expert technical advice and ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards across business unit finance teams.
- Partner with the Finance Manager to identify, design, and implement operational efficiencies across key team processes.
- Spearhead the preparation of the Group’s half-year and annual Financial Reports, alongside quarterly balance sheet and P&L reviews.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors regarding group financial reporting and audit processes.
What you'll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification with 4–6 years of experience across accounting firms, large ASX-listed entities, or the FMCG/retail sector.
- Proven track record in preparing complex internal and external financial reports tailored for Group Executives and Board members.
- Outstanding communication skills with the capability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, paired with a collaborative, cross-functional approach.
- Demonstrated project management capability alongside advanced Excel skills (SAP and OneStream system experience highly regarded).
