Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will serve as the education and outreach coordinator for the DEP Clean Boating Program. Responsibilities will include organizing and participating in outreach and educational events related to marine industries, boating, and maritime activities; developing materials for marinas, marine retailers, and the boating public describing clean boating principles; working with Marinas to facilitate Clean Marina (and Clean and Resilient Marina) designation; building relationships through the Clean Boating Partnership; and coordinating with regional Clean Boating Coordinators on all activities. Incumbent will implement approved program strategies to achieve federal and state goals and objectives under the Clean Boating Program and will follow procedures in compliance with state and/or federal regulations.
Provide coordination and management for the Clean Marina Program. This will include but not limited to renewal/compliance status; maintaining a list of recent designations; anticipated designations/new applications; and upcoming Clean Marina outreach events. Maintain communication with Clean Boating Coordinators to ensure marinas due for renewal and new marinas are being visited in a timely manner. Provide education and outreach and promote the Clean Marina/Clean Boating Program.
Develop and distribute Clean Marina press release each quarter. Maintain communication with the Division of State Lands for leasing confirmation.
Provide guidance, program materials, technical assistance and communication to marina, regional coordinators and members of the Clean Boating Partnership. Organize and present at Clean Boating workshops. Conduct research necessary to enhance the Clean Boating Program. Attend professional meetings related to Clean Boating.
Provide coordination and support of program and regional program activities such as workshops, boat shows, outreach events, walkthrough audits, designation ceremonies and responding to facilities questions
Maintain project files, tracking sheets and Clean Boating websites.
Assist Program Administrator in the preparation and implementation of state and federal grants.
Perform other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices, techniques of effective written and verbal communication.
- Skill in the use of personal computers.
- Skill and ability to organize data and information into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
- Ability to use problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to agency personnel and the general public.

- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to attain Florida Certified Contract Manager within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least four years of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the required four years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency (https://www.fldoe.org/teaching/certification/foreign-trained-grads/approved-credential-evaluation-agencie.stml) must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
- A valid driver license.
- Travel, including single-day and multi-day trips.
