Our Organization and Mission:
The Bureau of Education and Testing is housed within the Division of Professions. The Bureau protects the health, safety, and welfare of the public by providing services to numerous boards, divisions, and professions regulated by the Department. The Examination Development and Administration Units are responsible for developing, preparing, scheduling, scoring, and managing examination administrations. The units also monitor national examinations and examinations contracted with private testing companies to ensure that all examinations meet appropriate measurement standards. The Continuing Education Unit monitors compliance with continuing education requirements, including pre-licensure and post-licensure education. Additionally, the Continuing Education Unit processes applications for education courses and providers and administers continuing education audits.
The Work You Will Do:
This position is responsible for providing continuing education courses and provider consulting services with regards to the Education Provider Services section of the Bureau of Education and Testing. The Bureau of Education and Testing is responsible for conducting licensure examinations to eligible candidates and the approval and monitoring of continuing education for professions regulated by the Department.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate data submitted by prospective and existing continuing education providers to determine if criteria have been met pursuant to applicable statute and/or rule requirements. Check to ensure all required documentation has been submitted as required. Coordinate review of course material by taskforce members consultants or other subject matter experts as directed by board. Prepares CE agenda and submits continuing education provider and/or course applications to the Board for final approval.
- Review applications for continuing education renewal of qualified providers and/or courses. Notifies the applying entity in writing of the approval/denial of application.
- Prepare correspondence to providers, licensees, Department staff, and the general public. This includes letters regarding deficiency items, approval of provider or courses, denial of provider or courses, and general informational requests.
- Serve as the advisor to administrative staff within the Continuing Education Services section. Coordinates issues of concern to Regulatory Consultant.
- Compile and prepare statistical data report as required.
- Perform other related duties as may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other materials.
- Ability to conduct fact-finding research, to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Minimum Requirements :
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
Preferred:
- Fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
