To help the Church accomplish its religious mission, the developing support level Custodian role ensures the temple and other buildings reflect the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience by maintaining standards established by the First Presidency. Employees are expected to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and Church leaders and live principles of honesty, integrity, and morality. They maintain a spirit of religious compassion towards others and an attitude of devotion to God.
• Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend • 2 years of any combination of related experience or progress towards or completion of a relevant university (post-secondary) degree or an industry-recognized certification. • Must have a positive attitude with the ability to work in a team. • Must certify in the use of any needed equipment including sweepers, buffers, lifts, carpet cleaning machinery, high rise power washers, etc. • Ability to understand basic instructions, complete basic tasks, and handle basic issues and problems. • Able to independently lift and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs./23 kg. • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time. • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts for extended periods of time. • Ability to work with commercial-grade cleaners and chemicals and comply with all regulations associated with the handling of chemicals. • Understanding of storage, disposal, and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials. • Good understanding of the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
