# Job Description Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Algorithm Developer to further enhance our patient monitoring software. You will work with physiological signal processing, data analytics, and algorithm development to improve monitoring performance and help bring innovative healthcare technologies to market.
This position is based in Helsinki and offers the opportunity to work with experts across the full product lifecycle, from technology development and clinical validation to commercial products.
The position is mainly responsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining algorithms and software applications as well as for algorithms and software lifecycle including activities such as data analysis, algorithm performance testing, requirement analysis, documentation/procedures and implementation.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain algorithms for vital signs monitoring.
- Perform data analysis and algorithm performance testing.
- Support physiological data collection, dataset validation, and clinical study analysis.
- Collaborate with algorithm & software developers, system engineers, clinicians, and product managers.
- Contribute to product verification, validation, and regulatory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable medical device standards and quality processes.
Qualifications:
- MSc degree in biomedical engineering, engineering physics, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Basic experience in algorithm development, data analysis, signal processing or AI/ML applications.
- Experience with Python and/or Matlab for algorithm development and data analysis.
- Programming skills in C/C++.
- Hands-on experience using AI development tools for data analysis, software development and testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of pulse oximetry principles, signal processing, algorithm development, and performance evaluation.
- Familiarity with clinical study data analysis, statistical methods, and power analysis.
- Knowledge of international standards and EU and FDA regulation related to medical devices and their verification.
