Job Purpose

The Data Steward is the operational execution lead for commercial data quality across SAPAC, supporting the Data Coordinator and the respective business data owners. The role performs recurring data verification, audits, sampling and correction activities, directly supports designated markets, and produces the reporting required to identify and resolve data quality issues — flagging the underlying cause of each issue so that it can be addressed at source.

Output: accurate data, completed corrections under owner approval, managed exceptions, root causes flagged, and timely data quality reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Recurring verification and reporting (all markets, under the agreed allocation)

- Post-load price verification after every price load: sample SKUs against the approved price file and flag mismatches for correction (accuracy — distinct from the Data Coordinator's quarterly audit of timeliness)

- All cost-to-price reconciliation: spare parts each price-increase cycle (selling price versus current transfer price per part, flagging negative or below-threshold margins) and completeness checks on capital and consumables reconciliation

- Monthly contract-expiry report per market: contracts expiring within 90 days with no renewal action, and the on-time renewal rate

- Monthly preventive-maintenance completion reporting using the regional tracker template

- Quarterly customer-master-to-pricing audits where applicable: affiliations, hierarchies and classifications that drive pricing conditions

- Quarterly customer master hygiene runs: duplicate detection, entity and payer verification, classification checks

- Quarterly point-of-sale service-contract reconciliation and warranty-versus-installation allocation sampling

- Rotating monthly contract-record completeness sampling by market (expiry, pricing and coverage fields)

- For every recurring exception, record the likely underlying cause (process, ownership, system) alongside the correction, so patterns can be addressed by the Data Coordinator and the business owner

Direct execution for designated markets (primary executor)

- Prepare, validate and load price files into SAP for designated markets — reviewed by the Data Coordinator, verified and signed off by the market's Finance Director

- Execute installed base corrections and cleansing, customer master de-duplication and corrections, and contract-record completion, each under business-owner approval

- Capture point-of-sale service contracts into the portfolio and maintain preventive-maintenance tracking where local capacity is limited

- Enter and maintain distributor installation and end-customer data received under the regional collection standard

- Keep the execution log: every change, its approving data owner, and turnaround — reported to the Steering Committee via the Lead

Installed base (all markets)

- Execute the corrections arising from the installed base accuracy programme coordinated by the Data Coordinator; maintain the underlying data for the country accuracy score

Support and enablement

- Handle hands-on support requests from non-designated markets — price-file validation, IB corrections, de-duplication — logged and reported, with the Steering Committee managing the balance against verification work

- Maintain the single current repository of data SOPs using existing global platforms (GetBasic, GetLibrary, GetQMS, the Finance Manual) rather than local copies

- Produce one-page filter, currency and refresh-cycle guides for the global dashboards and support market training

Phase 2 (from month 6, gated)

- Zone and region performance reporting for India, building on work already under way with the Service Director

- Account-history and customer summary requests for sales and service teams, once scoped by the Steering Committee

Requirements

Must have:

- 4–8 years in data operations, master data maintenance, finance operations, order management or service administration

- Hands-on SAP experience in at least two of: customer master, material master, pricing conditions, equipment and service-contract records — including creating and maintaining records, not only reporting on them

- Advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliations); Power BI a strong advantage

- Meticulous attention to detail and the persistence to work through large record sets methodically

- The habit of asking why an error occurred — able to recognise when a data problem is really a process or ownership problem, and to say so

- Good written and spoken English; able to explain an exception clearly to a colleague in another country

- Comfortable working across cultures and time zones with people who do not report to you

Good to have:

- An analytics background or interest — the role has a Phase 2 pathway into reporting and analytics work

- Medical-device, pharmaceutical or other regulated-industry experience

- Exposure to service-contract or installed-base administration

- Experience with distributor or channel data
