Job Purpose
To coordinate and drive the governance of commercial data quality across SAPAC — ensuring the accuracy, integrity and reliability of key commercial data and analytics — with ownership of the data remaining with the region's markets and functions.
The Data Coordinator leads the regional data governance function: monitoring data quality, facilitating improvement, coordinating audits, controls, standards, reporting and market execution, making issues transparent and escalating where necessary, while serving as SAPAC's representative in Getinge's global data governance network. Alongside the Data Steward, the role runs the region's verification and audit cadence and supports designated markets directly; as Lead, it additionally owns the Steering Committee reporting pack and carries named accountability for the regional baseline and governance plan.
Key responsibilities
Establish the capability (first 90 days)
- Be formally registered as SAPAC Data Coordinator with Global Master Data Management; join the global Data Coordinator network and cadence; receive the relevant global data quality reporting, including the installed base quality report
- Adopt the global governance principles, definitions and available standards as the starting point for all regional work; identify where global standards apply before any regional standard is considered
- Establish the regional data governance scorecard and baseline each market against it, presenting it as the Steering Committee's standing Data Health Dashboard (named accountability)
- Stand up the Steering Committee reporting pack and a monthly service-findings call with the SAPAC Service Director
- Agree with the Steering Committee which markets are designated for direct execution, and establish the review-and-approval workflow with each market's Finance Director or nominated data owner
- With the Data Steward, agree the allocation of markets and recurring tasks between the two roles for committee approval
Lead accountabilities (ongoing)
- Prepare the Steering Committee pack each cycle: scorecard movement, audit findings, execution volumes, governance/execution time split, escalations
- Represent SAPAC in the global Data Coordinator network: bring regional issues, gaps and requirements into the global governance process
- Escalate systemic issues that cannot be resolved regionally through the global process rather than creating local workarounds
- Facilitate business-owned regional standards (see below) and monitor their adoption by market
- Apply the agreed prioritisation rule between committee meetings; escalate unresolved conflicts to the chair
Run the regional governance cadence
- Quarterly audit of annual price-increase application by market — timeliness of list and contract price application, with revenue impact of any delay (distinct from the per-load accuracy verification run by the Data Steward)
- Quarterly credit-note root-cause analysis and trending by market and category — asking why each pattern occurs and which process or ownership issue sits behind it
- Quarterly reporting of service-contract renewal timing against the regional standard
- Half-yearly field-safety traceability tests: verify that sampled equipment can be located to a functional location and customer within target time
- Coordinate the installed base accuracy programme: the global IB report relationship, the country accuracy score, and escalations — data ownership stays with the market and service organisation; corrections are executed by the Data Steward
- Interpret cost-to-price reconciliation results in the quarterly report (reconciliations are run by the Data Steward)
- Share recurring verification and reporting across markets with the Data Steward under the agreed allocation
Execution for designated markets
- Review price files prepared by the Data Steward before load, and coordinate the Finance Director sign-off workflow for each designated market
- Ensure every executed change carries a documented market approval so ownership and audit trail stay with the market
- Execute directly under the agreed market allocation where capacity requires
Facilitate regional standards
- Controlled price-override standard, and a lightweight pricing-discrepancy case log with root-cause categories distinguishing data error, process error and customer-side causes (Regional Finance)
- Two-person validation standard for pricing and master data changes (Regional Finance)
- Service-contract renewal-timing standard — renewal gaps and backdating (SAPAC Service Director)
- Service-contract structure that makes preventive-maintenance parts inclusion visible in the system (SAPAC Service Director)
- Regional renewal-approval standard — documented multi-level sign-off, drawing on existing good practice in the region (SAPAC Service Director with SSU leadership)
- Distributor installed-base collection standard, building on existing good practice in the region (SAPAC Service Director with market leadership)
- Consistent service-hours definitions — billable / non-billable / non-productive (SAPAC Service Director)
- Structured escalation of issues outside the region's control to global process owners, with documented business impact (Global MDM / global process owners)
Phase 2 (from month 6, gated on Phase 1 results)
- Validate the data feeding the global contract profitability reports and supplement with regional analysis, with Finance as business partner
- Like-for-like benchmarking of pricing and service KPIs across markets once definitions are standardised
- Scope further analytics with the Steering Committee
Requirements
Must have
- 4–8 years in data governance, master data management, finance operations or commercial operations, with experience facilitating standards or controls and getting them adopted across teams
- Working knowledge of SAP master data: customer master, material master, pricing conditions, equipment and installed base, service contracts
- Strong analytical skills in Excel and Power BI; comfortable profiling data, building reconciliations and presenting exceptions to senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority — across markets, functions and cultures, with people who do not report to you
- The ability to distinguish a data-quality symptom from the underlying process or ownership issue, and to drive prevention of recurrence rather than repeated correction
- Fluent written and spoken English; clear, concise written reporting
- Resilience and persistence — establishing a new regional capability is a marathon rather than a project
Good to have
- An analytics background or a clear ambition to grow into analytics — the role has a defined Phase 2 pathway into regional analytics and benchmarking
- Experience in a regulated medical-technology or life-sciences environment (ISO 13485 awareness, field safety corrective action traceability)
- Familiarity with CPQ, Salesforce or service-management systems
- Experience working with distributor channel data
