About this role

We are strengthening our FX Trading Desk within the Financial Risk Management Department. The desk manages the Group’s global foreign-exchange exposures across multiple currencies and geographies, supports daily liquidity and currency-position management, and executes hedging and market transactions for ArcelorMittal entities worldwide.

We are looking for a market-driven Senior FX Trader with strong judgement, disciplined risk-taking and the ability to convert market insight into measurable value. The right candidate will combine deep knowledge of global currency markets and derivatives with rigorous execution, stakeholder orientation and the ability to manage sizeable, dynamic exposures within a robust governance framework.

In fast-moving and strategically important currency markets, the Senior FX Trader will:

- Actively manage the Group’s FX exposures across major, emerging-market and selected frontier currencies, covering spot, forward and longer-dated risks.

- Develop and recommend hedging, funding and portfolio strategies for Group entities, internal stakeholders and senior management.

- Identify market opportunities across outright currencies, forward curves, carry, volatility, options and cross-market relationships, translating clear views into disciplined execution within approved limits.

- Contribute to desk performance through fundamental, technical and quantitative analysis, portfolio optimisation and risk-adjusted decision-making.

- Execute large-volume FX transactions using spot, forwards, swaps, NDFs, options and other approved instruments, negotiating competitively with external counterparties.

- Manage daily currency and cash positions to avoid liquidity gaps, provide market quotations to Group affiliates and ensure timely execution of strategic mandates.

- Advise subsidiaries and business leaders on optimal FX risk management, including direct and embedded exposures, and challenge external proposals where appropriate.

- Produce concise market intelligence, exposure analysis and actionable recommendations covering macroeconomic, monetary-policy, flow and geopolitical drivers.

- Operate in full alignment with ArcelorMittal’s Treasury policies, Financial Risk Management Framework, internal controls and compliance standards.

- Represent the Group professionally with international banks, brokers and market counterparties while contributing to knowledge sharing and a high-performance trading culture.

Profile we are looking for:

- Master’s degree or equivalent in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline.

- At least 10 years of relevant experience in FX trading, corporate treasury or global markets, ideally within a bank, multinational corporate, asset manager or major industrial group.

- Strong command of spot, forwards, FX swaps, NDFs and vanilla options; experience with structured or cross-asset solutions is an advantage.

- Advanced understanding of global macroeconomics, central-bank policy, market microstructure, liquidity, valuation and the risk drivers of FX portfolios.

- Proven ability to read markets, form independent views and take timely, accountable decisions under pressure.

- Strong analytical and quantitative mindset, with a clear focus on execution quality, risk-adjusted performance and portfolio optimisation.

- Experience with treasury management systems, electronic dealing platforms and market-data tools; confidence handling large-value transactions accurately.

- Collaborative and commercially minded, with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior finance stakeholders and colleagues across geographies and cultures.

- Clear, concise communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to explain complex market views and hedging strategies to senior management.

- Fluent English; French or another language relevant to ArcelorMittal’s global operations is a plus.
