Sanctions Asset Blocking - Assistant Vice President role is an intermediate level position responsible for supporting the Global Sanctions Asset Blocking Team in Services business. This position plays a crucial part in the execution of sanctions-related controls, ensuring that Citi identifies, restricts, and reports assets in compliance with global sanctions regimes. The role involves Supporting daily activities and primarily driving process improvements and working in collaboration with the broader functional stakeholder .
Responsibilities:
- Review existing processes and drive re-engineering initiatives to minimize risk to the bank
- Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies, in conjunction with professional judgement to make process improvement recommendations
- Lead implementation of assigned projects, including new products, services and upgrades to user platforms
- Identify process gaps for all applicable Policies and manage the delivery of improvements
- Provide informal guidance, and/or on the job training to new team members
- Support the daily operational tasks of the Asset Blocking Team, ensuring performance and quality expectations are met.
- Adhere to strict regulatory timelines and service-level agreements
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated comprehension of Security/Payments business, good understanding of accounting and sanction policies
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Sanctions, AML processes is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure and against tight deadlines
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to tasks
- Proficiency in MS Excel is required; experience with data analysis tools is a plus
- A good understanding of the global geopolitical landscape and its implications for compliance is beneficial
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
