Compensation Range:
$145,600.00 - $203,840.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the overall management, operational integrity, regulatory/legal compliance and financial performance for a Pharmacy and its programs within the UR Medicine System. Contributes to the strategic planning and program development and implementation across the system. Assists in creation of the annual operating budget for the Pharmacy. Coordinates the development and directs the implementation of new programs and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Identifies the needs for expansion and improvement of Pharmacy services. Ensures appropriate growth of the Pharmacy is maintained in keeping with the corresponding growth of the UR Medicine System. Coordinates the development and directs the implementation of new programs and services. Identifies opportunities and prepares business plans to further enhance services within the UR Medicine system. Works collaboratively with Administrative and Physician leaders to develop high quality programs.
- Participates in the strategic planning process for the Department of Pharmacy, representing Pharmacy program development opportunities. Takes ownership for strategic directions and objectives as assigned for the growth and development of Pharmacy services.
- Oversees responsibility for recruitment and retention of staff for Pharmacy programs, including interview, hiring, training and supervision processes in compliance with University and institutional policies and state and federal regulations. Recommends or approves action on hiring, terminations, promotions, salary and other related personnel matters.
- Oversees and manages responsibilities relative to budget performance for the Pharmacy. Ensures budget variances are identified and reported to senior leadership. Contributes to the creation of the annual operating budget for the Pharmacy, including business improvement and cost reduction targets. Participates in strategic planning and project management/implementation relative to integration of the Pharmacy to achieve efficiency.
- Ensures highly reliable, safe pharmacy operations, including the safe and effective implementation and utilization of software and technology as appropriate.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and third party payer requirements to minimize risk and exposure.
- Reviews and manages all safety concerns identified relative to pharmacy, following a just culture approach in collaboration with institutional quality management professionals.
- Provides opportunities for continuing education and development of professional and technical staff. Provides direct management, supervision, and development of the Pharmacy staff. Ensures the provision of timely and fair feedback and evaluation for all employees, according to University and institutional policies.
- Represents UR at local, state, and national professional meetings and seminars, thereby keeping informed of new concepts of pharmacy practice and trends in the profession, as well as contributing toward recruitment efforts to attract qualified professionals to the department.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

- Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school and 5 years of health-system or other relevant pharmacy experience required
- Master's degree in management preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in New York State upon hire required
