About this role

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with applicable payroll, tax, and company requirements. This position will be responsible for day-to-day payroll administration, timekeeping, employee payroll changes, payroll audits, and related reporting and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities

- Process payroll accurately and on schedule.

- Review and maintain employee timekeeping records, including regular hours, overtime, leave, and shift differentials.

- Manage payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, compensation changes, deductions, and other payroll updates.

- Support employee onboarding and ensure payroll information is entered accurately and timely.

- Perform payroll audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

- Support payroll tax filings and related compliance activities.

- Monitor and administer leave, overtime, and shift differential calculations.

- Research and resolve employee payroll questions and discrepancies.

- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.

- Partner with HR, Finance, and other internal teams on payroll-related matters.

- Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and other payroll projects as needed.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .

- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and administration.

- Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred .

- Knowledge of payroll compliance, tax requirements, timekeeping, leave administration, overtime, and payroll deductions.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
