Job Summary

IMI is seeking a full-time Project Manager for our Power Division local to the Watkinsville, GA area.

Essential Functions

The Power Division Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and manage assigned power, industrial and construction projects from estimate through closeout.  The Project Manager is accountable for safe execution, schedule, cost, quality and customer communication on assigned work while operating with guidance from the Division Manager or Division Director.

- Promote and enforce safe work practices and comply with all IMI and customer safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Serve as Quality Lead when assigned and complete required documentation in support of the IMI Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage assigned projects of defined scope and moderate complexity from turnover through closeout, with management guidance available for significant commercial or execution decisions.
- Serve as the day-to-day liaison with customers, vendors, subcontractors, field leadership, and internal stakeholders for assigned projects.
- Develop estimates using IMI standardized processes and tools; prepare material takeoffs and supporting documentation from drawings and specifications.
- Define project scope, deliverables, schedule, staffing needs, and budget; maintain an accurate project plan and cost forecast.
- Coordinate design support and review drawings and submittals for completeness, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.
- Direct and coordinate assigned field personnel and subcontractors; communicate priorities and elevate resource or performance concerns promptly.
- Track and report safety, schedule, cost, productivity, quality, risk, and change status; recommend corrective action when performance varies from plan.
- Identify, document, and support pricing of changes; obtain required management approval before making commitments outside delegated authority.
- Manage the project-level profit and loss performance of assigned work, including cost coding, committed cost, billing support, and final financial reconciliation.
- Complete project closeout, including customer acceptance, quality records, final documentation, lessons learned, and scope verification.
- Support business development through responsive customer service, estimating assistance, and identification of follow-on opportunities.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and coordination of field crews needed to execute Field Service or Power Division work.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, timely, and profitable project completion.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in the power, industrial, or construction industry preferred.
- Prior superintendent or field leadership experience is preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

- Working knowledge of estimating, scheduling, cost tracking, change management, and project closeout fundamentals.
- Ability to organize and manage assigned projects and competing priorities with dependable follow-through.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and related project documentation.
- Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to safety, quality, cost, and detail.
- Ability and willingness to work from a vehicle and visit customers or jobsites frequently, up to 75% of the time.
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 5% of the time.
