Job Description:
As a remote-based State & Local Government Account Specialist at Pitney Bowes, you will be responsible for maintaining client relationships and supporting client needs promptly and with the highest level of accuracy. As a member of our government team, you will be responsible for managing the AR receivables and account cleansing, streamlining support aligned with growth initiatives (e.g., automation, digital acceleration, and self-serve), and building strong rapport with some of our largest State & Local government agency clients while partnering internally with Sales and other internal stakeholders to address all client needs. You will be responsible for handling sensitive financial data for our clients; therefore, a credit review is included in the background screening process.

You will:
- Act as an account expert and point of contact for Pitney Bowes’ large State & Local clients.
- Prepare and submit accurate invoices to be submitted to the client in a timely manner.
- Manage portal billing activities and maintain adherence to client-specific portal requirements.
- Perform account maintenance and data cleansing to ensure accurate client information in all applicable systems.
- Make informed decisions in alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Manage administrative account cleansing activities, including Purchase Order and Contract review, payment application/reconciliation, fleet data management.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal business units and stakeholders to deliver exceptional client support.
- Consistently achieve established performance standards, KPI’s and productivity metrics.
- Effectively prioritize and organize daily workload to meet service-level exceptions and deadlines.
- Collect past due accounts within the States & Local Government portfolio.
- Support growth initiatives, including automation, digital acceleration, and self-serve.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for contract review and client onboarding assistance.
- Act as the primary escalation point for client issues, providing in-depth account support and ad hoc assistance to the Government team as needed.
Your Background:
- You have a positive, client first attitude.
- 2+ years client service experience.
- Prior account management, contract management, and/or billing reconciliation and collections a plus.
- Proven time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to quickly change direction as dictated by business needs.
- Excellent professional written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work independently and can prioritize and schedule daily activities while functioning in a team environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred (pivot tables, vlookups, etc)
- Strong interpersonal skills/ability to work with others.
- Attention to detail; excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- This position handles sensitive financial data for our clients; therefore, a credit review is included in the background screening process.
Compensation:
The wage for this position is $21/hour (may vary depending on location and skillset).
Location:
Remote (US) CST or EST
Availability to work from 8:00 am - 5:30 pm EST/7:00 am - 4:30 pm CST, Monday through Friday. (Specific schedule within those hours may vary or change as needed).
Appropriate work from home setting for being in a client-facing environment
