Hours: (4) 10-Hour Shifts 6:30am-5pm w/ On-Call and Weekend Rotation Required
1 On-Call Holiday Per Year Required
Department Summary
Gastroenterology (GI Lab) has four procedure rooms and twelve admit/recovery bays. Gastroenterology serves young adults to geriatrics with diagnostic and interventional procedures. The population served is both inpatient and outpatient. This specialty includes, but is not limited to, the following procedures: upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG/PEJ, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, 24 hour pH study, esophageal motility, endoscopic ultrasound, and high-resolution manometry.
General Summary
Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Diploma Program Required or
- Associates Degree Required
- Bachelors Degree Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience:
- 2 years of recent RN Experience Preferred
- Previous ICU/PACU Experience Preferred
Licenses:
- Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required and
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
