Position Overview

- Position Title: Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator
- Position Type: Direct Placement (100% Onsite)
- Location: Monroe, NC
- Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000/year base + discretionary annual bonus (approx. 3–5%)
- Schedule: Full-time, in-office; collaborative back-office environment
- Reports To: Director of Projects

Position Summary

We are seeking a career-minded Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator to support a growing construction project management team. Working closely with Project Managers, this individual will oversee project documentation, billing, submittals, drawings, and administrative processes to ensure projects move forward seamlessly.

This is an ideal opportunity for a professional with 2 to 6 years of project coordination experience who enjoys the operational side of construction and seeks long-term career growth in project management.

Key Responsibilities

- Project Support: Assist 2–3 Project Managers across multiple active construction projects.
- Documentation & Submittals: Review, process, and track project submittals, quotes, and associated requirements.
- Billing & Financial Administration: Prepare and maintain billing documentation, process lien waivers, and assist with sales tax reporting.
- Drawings & Records Management: Enter, maintain, print, and distribute project drawings while preserving accurate project files and records.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure all administrative deadlines and project requirements are met.
- General Administrative Support: Handle additional project-related operational and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Industry Knowledge

- Experience: 2–6 years of experience in project coordination, as an Assistant Project Manager, or in a similar operational role.
- Industry Focus: Construction industry experience is strongly preferred; electrical construction experience is a major plus.

Core Competencies & Technical Skills

- Technical Literacy: Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to and learn new software systems quickly.
- Process Mastery: Proven experience reviewing and processing project documentation, submittals, and billing paperwork.
- Organization & Multitasking: Highly organized with keen attention to detail and comfortable supporting multiple Project Managers simultaneously.
